That's not really a void. A void is an empty space. That is a relatively large amount of energy harnessed in one area. Master chief has survived that, including nukes and the composer. Also you forgot about MC's battle rifle, and sniper rifles being one shot kills if it's a headshot. And unlike in Destiny, you can aim without scoping while using a sniper rifle, and can easily get a headshot snapshot if it's a skilled person using said Halo sniper rifle, and MC is a really skilled spartan, not as good as Linda at sniping, but still better than any human or guardian.
