Buying the Taken King? Read this....
The Taken King should be changed to The King of Taken your Money.
The DLC is overpriced at $40.
It is not worth $40...Activi$ion....as we ALL well know...is disgusting when it comes to scamming people.
Destiny is on its last leg with milking beyond belief since both Bungie and Activi$ion know that all the good games are coming out soon (SW Battlefront, Uncharted 4, Deus Ex, Doom, Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Need for Speed 2015, etc.)

This is all activisions fault. They have no care for the fans but only their wallet. I do not care to spend 40$ on destiny. I have a job so I'm good. But to buy this DLC is supporting their ways of scamming people. That DLC isn't worth 40$ and for the people who compare it to movie dates, it's a different field. You guys say 100s of hours for 40$ is worth it, yeah when your complaining that you want that new gun or armor and getting pissed off in trials. The only reason why you have a 100s of hours is because this game a gambling simulation. You will continue to grind up the ass to get that gun or armor you want. THATS the only reason. It's a gambling simulation. Rather we fight with each other. We should boycott activision games. We love activision games, let's get that out of the way. But activision milks the -blam!- out of our wallets and people who say it's fine I have a job, I spend more for two hours at the theaters or whatever, you guys are allowing for it to happen. ITS NOT OKAY! AT ALL! And it's not only destiny, it's call of duty too. For the past few call of duties the season pass came with the hardened edition. This year, it isn't. You either have to shell out 100$ to get it digitally or if you want the metal case, you gotta buy the 80$ and then the season pass which is 50$. It's just milking the -blam!- out of our wallets. We need to stop talking out of our asses and saying that it's okay, blah blah. No it's not. A boycott on bungies game will surely affect them if they are getting no money.

2 RepliesI'm getting the digital collector's edition. I really like this game since it has been the only game that I keep coming back to. I've spent more money on other games that I've only played for a few hours so I say it's worth the cost. Besides, i understand the headaches of developing a game so I'd like to support my fellow software developers.

All I can say is, I'll fork over my $40, but this is probably the last chance a lot of destiny players are going to give the game. After the wide spread disappointment of the first two dlc's, and this one being $40, it better be good enough to gain back people's love for this game from the honey moon phase. I personally liked the dark below, and if this is supposed to be 10 times better than anything we've seen in destiny, I'm excited

2 RepliesThe more they reveal the more it appears that it is not worth 2/3's of a new game (3 new strikes....that's it? 3 reskinned should be a free update, not paid "new content") and will likely be 2 weeks before it's a boring grind again. Just treat it as gaming "filler" until Oct when the big titles start dropping and it's all good.

I probably would have bought it if they kept it at the same price on the xbox uk store which was £27 I think. £40 though is just unacceptable I have never paid that much for dlc and I won't start now.

DLC = Generally a small addition to a game. Fairly cheap 20$ box of chicken. Expansion = A large addition to the game, usually as big or nearly as big as the main game. Sometimes they are even standalone. 39$ 2 bags of carryout lol isn't expensive DLC will be 20$ . If games came like they did back ps2 with all the content games like Madden batman ect would be 80 to 100 bucks oh wait..they already are! . I'm not protecting I'm telling you this is what's happening in the world and in gaming. Stay blind all you want but other games are doing the same thing little micro dlc The higher the resolution the more money they need to keep making games, quit complaining!

5 RepliesWow, I get trying to defend Destiny and it's pricey DLC on the official Destiny forums, but I barely scrolled down and see all these overly defensive comments for the Taken King DLC calling the OP a poor person or a whinny kid just because he thinks $40 for TTK is too high. News flash to those people, it kinda is, and it's only more expensive in other countries (or at least Australia). I like Destiny, but shit, I wouldn't defend the game that much.
