Think you misunderstood the announcement. To me it sounds like they're saying that TTK brings more new weapons than any other expansion or even the original game at launch.

Context and grammar. The sentence is stating that the new armory will be larger than the vanilla armory, not include the vanilla armory.

But they're saying its the largest armory including the original launch armory, meaning that it will be bigger than the original not that it will include the items from it.
