Physically, I do not believe men and women to be equal (if anyone tries to debate this I'm not replying) ladies are naturally more flexible as men are naturally stronger... But video games require neither of those. And the type of people that would think being better at a video game makes you an Aplha ( lol just imagine how nerd pathetic this guy would look like) are either obviously stupid adults or teenage boys. A big part of the culture that watches streams are teenagers. Boys are boys and we play dirty. Always have always will. We usually don't grow up till after 25ish (most of us). Anyway- to prevent sexist feedback perhaps the stream should only allow comments from subscribers. Most teenagers don't have credit cards

6 RepliesPart of the problem is that if you want equality than you have to deal with these kinds of things like the rest of us. There can't be a huge uproar or all this support coming out just because it happens to women. I'm a male and I'm on youtube. I make videos that people don't always agree with. I've had people tell me that my house should burn down while my mother is being -blam!- inside, I've had death threats, and the whole nine yards. You just have to let it go. It's the internet and people get balls of steel hiding behind a keyboard and monitor. Just block/ignore them and move on. When you make videos like this or respond than you are giving the trolls exactly what they want and just putting more fuel on their fire. They know that they got to you, they know that it bothered you, and that makes them feel good and further encourages their behavior. Not saying you can't have your all female clan, but you have to also realize when you do that you are opening yourself up to more of the trolling because you really aren't promoting the "equality" that you are seeking. Yes it sucks that people target your group, but again, you have to just let it go and hold your head high and be the bigger person. I honestly sometimes wonder if these groups clamoring for all this equality even know what that word means. You don't make yourself equal by trying to create special groups and call for action to be taken against behavior that only affects you. Again as someone who has had to deal with plenty of internet trolls, I'm sympathetic to what you had to deal with, but in the long run it is going to be much more helpful if you just ignore these types of people and try to work for equality for ALL gamers, not just females.

As a female you are almost basically painted with a target on your back. Since some people can't get their sexism out of the 1800/1900s and being on the internet only makes it worse. I've seen it first hand have a female friend of mine shit on in a lobby and even told stories how she was treated like a toy/ piece of meat from people in real life. Even have been told myself to kill myself or somebody coming after me ect. I agree with most of your statements, but until equality for Everyone black, asian, hispanic, male, female, cis, bi, lesbian, gay both on the internet and real life. Shit like this will continue to happen. But sadly that wont ever happen, due to everyone's various opinions. Now as for the personal threat one of your ladies faced, it was just down right awful and should be taken action against. Those kind of people need be dealt with with the full extent of the proper authorities

Make a clan calling it a safe haven expect to get trolled when you hop online with your headsets on and you're streaming. Can't stand the heat then get back into the kitchen.

It's being an idiot - and that's all there's to it. Now, I don't think the vast majority of people actually believe or mean the things they post/chat but they're not smart enough to get attention in a productive way so they choose the path of least resistance. A good troll would add an element of satire and hints so that people reasonably had a chance of catching on to it and join in on the laughter, assuming it was worthy of laughing at. Examples of IMO somewhat clever trolling; having everyone vote for Somalia as the place of Justin Bieber's free show , giving the Interview perfect reviews online. Calling someone a whore or similar online has no element of satire and it's impossible tell if it's genuinely meant or not. Hence, it's just an insult. As for sexism, in this case I just think it was the easiest thing to attack. You have to keep in mind that we're dealing with pretty shallow people here - with a very limited imagination. But granted that it would have sounded differently if you had been a group of dudes. Personally - after seeing the comments male gamers and foremost the pros - recieve I'm leaning toward it actually being worse to get comments as a guy. With sexism it's atleast not [i]that [/i]personal. As a guy, with male gamers still being the norm, people become much more creative and IMO more personal. I'm sure chick gamers get that too, on top of the other stuff, but those are the things that I can imagine really sticks.

Ok my joke above aside, I listened to your video and I have watched all the back and forth on these forums. My personal stance on it is that its a non issue. I personally feel the world is way too politically correct anymore, everyone takes everything far too personally and always feels like everything is an attack at them personally. Women having an all female clan, go for it in no way do I think that is a problem at all. However I think Bungie has created the worst in game community environment in modern history. The fact that there is no real in game communication segregates the community. If the Minority female gammer wants to find acceptance with the male community then they need to make a presence that they see in the game. Having there own little clan will not promote a positive environment for women in Destiny. If you want acceptance if you don't want to be treated like the mythical unicorn of destiny then the female gamers need to join the community. Sadly this might mean a thick skin at times is needed. However to truly change the male dominated culture you have to proove you can get in there and mix it up with the rest of us and make it a fun experience. Probably why things often seem so ferocious for women gamers is because its still such a small group and as many studies have prooved men and women working together always equals the best results. Men want women around they make us better, and we would love more women to play Destiny and participate with us, it just seems in destiny that the women of this game don't want to integrate and thats a loss for everyone. Lets also be clear an immature person is easily spotted and I'm talking to the mature female gamers and the mature male gamers.
