At launch, the game cost 60 dollars (unless you bought Ghost edition like me) Most people have put around 700-800 hours into this game. Some less, some much much more. Most people drop 60 bucks for one trip to the bar. At 800 hours, 60 bucks gets you 33.3 days of entertainment. Seems like a good value. TTK costs 40. And I'm sure I'll probably end up putting another 300-400 hours into Destiny playing with friends. Hell, even if TTK lasted for about 200 hours worth of play before I was done, I still consider that a value. Most DLC expansions cost 10-15 dollars. And they are usually done and played out the day they release. And before anyone tries to explain to me of how they played all this time, but hated the game. I don't believe it. If you have over 500 hours in this game. You had fun. Maybe it was because you were with your friends. Maybe another reason. But I'm sorry the "I'm just trying to hit max lvl" or "I'm done once I get gally", etc, are bad excuses. Why do you want max lvl, gally, or any of that? If you hate the game you will move on. No one here is going to convince me they put in days worth of playtime on this game and hated it. You know what I do when I hate a game? I stop playing. If you hate Destiny, and still play it, you're an idiot, no other explanation. For those that say, the game has some serious flaws. I agree, it does. But it is still an enjoyable game, and is still fun.

  • Game has serious flaws. I have had fun playing it especially once I accepted it for what it was instead of what most of us hoped/expected/hyped it to be. I seriously doubt TTK will make this game rate 7/10 on my opinion scale (and that's being generous) I seriously doubt TTK will manage to rope in any significant numbers of new players, or re-rope the extremely large numbers of players that have already moved on. I'm not comparing Destiny to any other specific games head-to-head, but what I am saying is that Destiny has so far faced very little serious competition for the attention of players. That's about to drastically change over the next six months.

  • I'll respect your opinion, however; Both your points remain to be seen. Will it rope in/re-open new players? Who knows. But I don't think it's fair to say it won't because you are over Destiny. I have friends that haven't played since Vanilla, that are getting back into the game because TTK peeked their interest. But I agree it's not for everyone, I can respect it isn't for you. I don't see though how it hasn't faced an serious conpetition. Destiny has been out since last September, it has faced numerous titles in that time, to include the holiday list of games. Again strictly opinion on what you consider to be competition, but I think we have all seen the endless list of X game will kill Destiny threads, and it's still here. Yes new games are coming out, but Destiny is a living evolving game (albeit slowly at times). It's a game that people can come back to. They can log on with friends, for NF, raids, etc. I know this is a crazy concept for a lot of people... but I am the only one who plays other games, then hops on to Destiny with my friends? Why do we all have to have one game? Everyone is always talking about the game that will kill Destiny. Destiny will always be there. People may not be logged in all week, they may play other games, but I know a very large portion of this games community plays more than one game.

  • I tried real hard, and thought I was plainly stating that I wasn't comparing Destiny to any specific game (like all the 'X-game will kill Destiny threads) not at all what I was trying to say. Yeah, you're right, I'm a little over Destiny, but I will be the first to admit I've had great fun playing, it's a fun addictive shooter with a mild amount of character customization. I base my statements on what I've seen, which is: I started Destiny with ZERO XBL friends, by about the 2nd month i had added at least a hundred, and maybe half or slightly more than half played daily like me, (friends list playing about 2-3 pages long), but by the time TDB had been out for about a month I had to constantly add people to keep the active friends list a half page long. When HoW came out, the first week my active friends was about 5 pages!! Because most like me, bought the season pass on day 1, and felt obliged to play it thru at least a couple times since we all paid for it already. Nowadays, I'm back to a half page active players, and I'm steadily adding randoms from PuG and strikes. TTK isn't the season pass.... Anyways, game just seems pretty divided amongst younger-crowd CoD/halo/competitive shootemup types, and older crowd RPG/MMO/mass effect/KOTOR/Skyrim types. Most notably, Fallout 4 is going to siphon off the older crowd, but the younger crowd may well migrate more to battlefront...who knows really. Point is, the verdict has been out in what Destiny is and isn't for some time and TTK won't change that. Oh, and I'm a one game at a time kinda person. I've only been playing Destiny the whole past year. In that time, I've only played Destiny with exactly one person I know in real life. For me, even if I decide to buy TTK a week or so after its out, come November 10th, I won't be playing Destiny anymore.

  • Every person is different, and again. I totally respect your view on the game. I do see your point about TTK, but I've had some friends who have already pre-ordered it who swore off Destiny lol. I count myself in the older crowd (pushing 32). I will be playing massive amounts of Fallout, Mirrors Edge, and FF7 remastered in the coming months. However, Destiny will always be the game I go back to for fun with friends. A few of friends are real life friends, and a few of them are some cool dudes I've met playing the game that I've gotten to know pretty well. Everyone's experience is different. It will be interesting to see how this game evolves. I know there is a lot of TTK hype, but at least they are injecting some legitimate content, not just rehashed mess into the game. We can only see where it goes from here.

  • Yeah, I'd like to see the game evolve for the better for sure. Haha, of course to me that would mean #theupdatewewillneverget to include in no particular order: A coherent, engaging, and satisfying main story and hundreds of multiple short story lines, all of which make the game M-rated. A functional game economy with trading (probably just a reward-for-reward between fire team members under limited time at reward/stats screen would suffice for starters) Crafting, or some variation like legendary upgrade paths for any and all weapons and armors from common to rare. (This would also cover all the transmog requests) A leveling system based on XP/accomplishments rather than being bound to an extremely limited selection of armor. Toggle proximity chat anywhere anytime Private and custom PVP matches More raids as good as VoG, like way more, dozens more, and not metered one at a time over ten years. Near-unlimited space to store any and everything. That's just a few off the top of my head...again, I'm well aware of the story behind how this game got seriously "streamlined" to get pushed out when it did and to cater to the specific audience it targets. I am certainly ecstatic to go off entirely by myself to play Fo4 for a good couple years. Exploding heads! Drugs and hookers! DEATHCLAWS! Craft everything, literally. PC mods installed on XB1!! Truly next-gen...

  • Those are all some really goodnthings. But remember with the exception of the vault space (which is limited due to last gen). These are not simple flip of the switch requests. Obviously the community has been vocal about many of those things. But these things also take time. Persoanlly I feel like many of these things are not far off. Maybe with TTK with actually making us level up to 30, they are trying to phase out light levels, as they haven't exactly been well received. Personally, I want to see a transmog system, similar to WOW, so I can use whatever armor I want. I'm confident this game will grow and evolve in big ways, but it's going to take time.

  • For sure, none of that stuff could happen overnight or even be realistic, unfortunately it was all alluded/hyped/expected around 2013, but when the game actually released..nada. Also, Yeah, a straight transmog system seems like a no-brainer. They made the helmet on-off in tower sound so easy, swapping the model for any and all weapons and armors may not be too far off? (Excluding exotics of course)

  • Yeah, but a lot of that has to do with all the political stuff that happened. Hell the shell of a game they gave us in such a shprt amount of time is a testament to what they are capable of if you really think about it.

Wants trading... Pov now invalid Most of those mods will not work on the X1 it does not have the horse power (neither does the PS4) and one bad mod gets through at best you have a borked save and bad install. At worst you have a bricked X1
