So after a few weeks of testing possibilities for what I felt is the best final column perk on the Hopscotch Pilgrim, I finally got to Rangefinder. I have yet to see anybody test the before/after without having upgraded Rangefinder so I decided to try and give you a general idea.
People have been singing high praises about the Hopscotch's fantastic range! Not quite as fantastic as one may think. Below are pictures of the damage dropoff distances using Red Dot ORS (the dot sight that provides the highest potential range boost while maintaining low zoom) and Braced Frame (the perk that maxes stability without compromising range).
I shot at the Fallen Walker to test where exactly dropoff occurred. I chose a familiar area so you can understand where I'm standing. I couldn't get numbers without voice commands to capture screenshot so where I'm standing is the best I could do.
Distance where dropoff first started occuring without Rangefinder:

Without Rangefinder (Reference Point Showing Placement - I just turned to the right to give you a landmark):

Considering the "with rangefinder" distance is a) significantly better and b) a common PvP situation, I think Rangefinder is an excellent choice given the alternatives.

All things considered, it doesn't need rangefinder. That is nearly all the way across Burning Shrine without rangefinder. Pulse rifles are medium-long range weapons, not snipers. Lol.
