He can also survive a nuclear blast and outer space without needing ships

Which is why halo's story is broken. He can do all of that without explanation. Before you say "Because he's a spartan", there were other Spartans too, but they're all dead or *ahem* MIA, so he certainly isn't invincible. Besides, the chief can die, guardians can't, because of ghosts.

Edited by IS0M0RPHIC: 8/3/2015 10:58:00 PMLol don't even bother bringing the "guardians can be revived" nonsense into this.....Petra venj destroyed three guardian fire teams AND their ghosts by simply bombing them....how easy do you think it would be for chief to fire a spartan laser at one? Or request an orbital strike if it came to it?
-
Why even bother bringing "Master chief is a spartan" Spartans have been killed by single shots, grenades, simple plasma burns. The thing that keeps him alive is that Master Chief is "lucky", which is some bullshit writing if I've ever seen it. They dropped him from orbit, which hitting the ground at terminal velocity would turn you into mush, reguardless of armor lock. He would have so many broken bones and shit, yet he gets right up? No. At least in this universe, you're allowed to be a -blam!-up, and your ghost can easily revive you. Some ghosts die yes, but not all, and not dinklebot. So it really should be MC v. Dinklebot, because Dinklebot can bring anyone back to life it seems.
-
Edited by IS0M0RPHIC: 8/3/2015 11:10:15 PMWell this isn't a fight between mc and dinklebot, this is a fight between master chief and a guardian (not YOUR guardian, A guardian) and from a lore standpoint master chief would just destroy the ghost, from a gameplay standpoint? Probably the guardians, plus I didn't bring up the "he's a spartan" line you did
-
Why wouldn't it be YOUR guardian? It's not a guardian vs a spartan. It's master chief, the main character of halo, why wouldn't it be your main guardian?
-
Because the guardians in this game aren't even considered to be characters?
-
How are they not considered characters?
-
Have you played the story mode?!
-
Yes and what little there is, your characters changed what would've happened if they weren't there, like destroying the black heart. So like it or not, you're the main character of this game
who would have thought
-
Edited by IS0M0RPHIC: 8/3/2015 11:48:51 PMIsn't a character supposed to be....interesting? Because throughout the entire story my "character" doesn't question anything...ANYTHING, he has little to no development, he doesn't ask "what happened to this place?" once and he never asks himself "who the hell am I, and why was I brought back to life with a tattoo on my face?". You see what I'm saying? The guardian you play as doesn't even deserve to have protagonist syndrome....if he died I wouldn't have been affected at all...
-
Just so you know, protagonist syndrome isn't a good thing. It's something that happens when a series has gone on too long, and writers have no clue where to bring it next. The dropped from orbit thing was bad but tolerable. 343's surviving a nuke 3 inches away from you is just dumb.
-
In master Chiefs defence cortana activated a hard light shield around chief right before he activated he nuke
-
But what kind of shield can withstand a nuke, especially at that range. I can only imagine nukes have gotten better in the 500 plus years halo takes place
-
Well it took a Mac cannon to punch a small hole into a forerunner ship. And the shield cortana used was forerunner shielding
-
Mac rounds are just super heated metal, with some sort of hard ass center, thrown at ridiculous speeds. Nukes have radiation, and chemical explosions, probably some alien shit too since it's so far after humans have gotten their hands on covenant tech
-
I dunno what to say man :/
-
That's the thing lol, nowhere does it say in halo 4 that there's a sirens that strong, in some foreshadow attempt. It just happens lol
-
He's not a normal spartan tho he was a special creation from the girl that made the Spartans
-
They're all made the same. Well all the Spartan II's anyway
-
Just want to point out that there is plenty of story explaining that stuff in Halo and that if a ghost is destroyed guardians can't be revived
-
I know, but how is John so much more resilient than say Fred, or Linda. Also, how do you destroy something that can disintegrate into thin air?
-
Are you serious? You do realize that a lot of grimoire score in destiny is collecting damaged ghosts right? They weren't damaged by nothing man.
-
I just assumed some ghosts are smarter than others, just like spartans. There are plenty of dead spartans, yet chief still lives and fights because he's better.
-
I think it may have something to do with how he's all special and whatnot with the forerunners. That is implying that he is better than the others Spartans, which he isn't necessarily better.
-
He just has a bad case of main character syndrome, where they can do anything they want with him and everyone would accept it. He could be the love child of a forunner who came back in time because he sent them back to inseminate to make sure he was born and everyone would love it
