Go ahead and don't buy it, nobody cares. Destiny sucks but I still enjoy it. If you still ever play after TTK drops have fun being left behind.

It does suck, and I do enjoy it. There's a lot of things wrong with the game but I don't let that get in the way of having a good time.

If you enjoy something....it should not suck. Therefore, there is no need to pay for additional content to make up for the badness.
