If everything is god's will, why do you pray? Do you hope to sway the plan of what you believe to be the creator of all that ever was, is, and will be?
Also, why does it seem that god helps suburban American Christians find their car keys over helping starving children in third world countries?

Someone's a predigest.

God chose us. His will is for us to go to heaven. But he gave us free will. We have to chose him. People pray for help and forgiveness. People pray for others.
-
We pray because we don't know the full will of God. And I doubt God is helping anyone find their car keys. Regardless of what they say.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 8/7/2015 2:33:21 AMWe should see where our own will can take us. We can accomplish great things when we let go of the notion of being watched and instead do things because they are the right and considerate thing to do. Not because we feel like we have to for fear of punishment or hope of reward.

I neither fear punishment nor hope for a reward.

They should just read their bibles.

I read the OP and nothing about my question is in there. I'm asking a serious question.

We pray to have a relationship with God, it's not about making him do things it's about talking to him.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 8/7/2015 3:47:16 PMI remember doing that. Then it got to the point in which I felt like and eventually realized I was talking to myself. Once I had that epiphany I decided to have a relationship with nothing beyond what I can perceive. With observed reality. It was the most relieving and freeing moment of my life. It felt like waking up from the Matrix.
