No one apparently played with a progressive gear upgrade system before...
What did you get out year one? Nothing physical...you never did.
What you did get was entertainment(the point of all video games)...If you didn't then you did was your time

I was really looking forward to adding adept messenger owner to my resume this year. Without my Felwinters Lie I may not be able to get a bonus at work come Christmas. And I don't even know how I'll be able to get laid without dropping the fact that I have a maxed out Fatebringer.

Lol. I was just agreeing with your OP. These people act like not upgrading will impact their real life. I can't imagine the reaction if they overhauled a subclass and messed up a favored build. Something that happens in progressive MMO's fairly regularly.
