So Bungie just told us..
That the day The Taken King releases.
All that gear your grinded for for hours on end and worked hard to get is becoming useless.
All that ascending for nothing.
Thanks Bungie. I'm cancelling my pre-order.

[b]We're getting remodelled weapons with different names and colours.
Devil You Know and Revelator have same base stats.
Red Hand IX and Lone.Rebel have same base stats.
Deadshot Luna SR1 and B-Line Trauma have same stats.
I'm so happy to dismantle my favourites for identical overall base stats DUPLICATES.
Everything will continue to be the same.
Yes "move on" to "better weapons".
All that changes are the name, colour and a slight adjustment to the models.. The attack value goes up.
Yet THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE.[/b]
Edit: Yes this is my first MMO.
Yes I love the weapons I am currently using.
Yes I love playing Destiny, gameplay is incredible.
Yes I will complain when things piss me off.

I really couldn't care less about the genre.
Edit 3: If you're happy spending money for your weapons, that you worked hard for, to become obsolete then good for you.
I chase the weapons. You may chase armor, grimoire, experience or enjoy doing the same thing week in week out.
Insults don't affect me, in fact it shows how low your intellect is.
"They said wait" they shouldn't have to.
They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions.
They shouldn't let misinformation be released.
Edit 4: unlike the majority. I rarely use my fatebringer.
Final Edit: After reading many constructive replies and having checked in on Destiny today. I've decided I'm going to have to line up all my weapons and start cutting them out. Keeping all exotics and useful crucible weapons and those I consider to be useful.

FYI we didn't buy weapons, we bought a gaming experience. Get with it kiddo, this is how games progress. If we kept the same shit we got in the first 6 months for the whole ten years, this game would flop like a limp weiner. This is how ALL games like this go. The shit you get in year two will ALSO become obsolete in year 3 and so on. Don't fear change of weapons/gear and forego what will likely become an overall better gaming experience after this drops.

1 ReplyThis is how the game should have been from day 1. Grinding for gear alone is ridiculous. An XP leveling system with complementary gear, class based or other is a billion times better. I will never dismantle my main gear now. The grind was real and a lot of fun. Looking forward to a chnage and a challenge. All of our exotics can and will be ascended. This is a far better system for the future. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and can cancel their orders etc. This just secured my preorder.

You should be more excited about these new upcoming weapons. I'm bummed too, but I'm also excited to use something that isn't fatebringer or vision for every PVE activity. A lot of these new weapons are going to be unique with the weapon foundries. I don't know about you, but I seen more weapons that feel like duplicates now more than ever.

3 RepliesI find it kind of odd that if all our gear will be useless when the ttk releases, why nerf the black hammer? I mean if it's not going to be ascended, it's basically worthless. No need to nerf it in the first place, right? I just find it hard to believe that bungie would waste there time on a nerf, if with the new light levels/ weapon levels would cause it to be out shined in the first place.

Don't worry about it. I am with you. It is a sad mess and I get sick of all this welcome to an mmo crap. Wish they would all just go grab their 20 sided dice and stick them up their you know what. This was billed as a 10 year adventure and now I am just not so sure what it is. I am still in for the next round for now but we will wait and see. Sure not placing a pre order.

I'll be keeping a few trophies. My duplicate VoG weapons... They're gone. But I'll keep one of each as a reminder. Maybe.. Just maybe.. They'll give my beloved fatebringer an upgrade path. Personally I'm looking forward to a new set of challenges where I can't use ole faithful. That's just me, though

It's just like any other game, granted it is like an expansion but I don't buy a new call of duty game or whatever and expect to keep my level and prestige from the year before. I'm looking forward to saying goodbye to my fatebringer, timepiece, hezen vengeance and all my gear and collecting new things. It used to be exciting to get a piece of raid gear, now I just check to see if it's looks better than what I have now since I found gear that maxes out my intellect/discipline. It's time to let go man.

it would be sweet if i had a fully leveled fatebringer in ten years it would be "old trusty"like an old car thats paid off and always starts. you love you use it and it never fails. it not our fault bungie can't make a better gun than the ones out now. its not our fault all the PoE and queens guns are terrible. its not us its them we just keep them in business by being fooled by this game for a year now.it fun for sure but is it really worth it now. re grind new grind doesn't make sense i will have to wait and see if this TTK will be worth it.
