So Bungie just told us..
That the day The Taken King releases.
All that gear your grinded for for hours on end and worked hard to get is becoming useless.
All that ascending for nothing.
Thanks Bungie. I'm cancelling my pre-order.

[b]We're getting remodelled weapons with different names and colours.
Devil You Know and Revelator have same base stats.
Red Hand IX and Lone.Rebel have same base stats.
Deadshot Luna SR1 and B-Line Trauma have same stats.
I'm so happy to dismantle my favourites for identical overall base stats DUPLICATES.
Everything will continue to be the same.
Yes "move on" to "better weapons".
All that changes are the name, colour and a slight adjustment to the models.. The attack value goes up.
Yet THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE.[/b]
Edit: Yes this is my first MMO.
Yes I love the weapons I am currently using.
Yes I love playing Destiny, gameplay is incredible.
Yes I will complain when things piss me off.

I really couldn't care less about the genre.
Edit 3: If you're happy spending money for your weapons, that you worked hard for, to become obsolete then good for you.
I chase the weapons. You may chase armor, grimoire, experience or enjoy doing the same thing week in week out.
Insults don't affect me, in fact it shows how low your intellect is.
"They said wait" they shouldn't have to.
They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions.
They shouldn't let misinformation be released.
Edit 4: unlike the majority. I rarely use my fatebringer.
Final Edit: After reading many constructive replies and having checked in on Destiny today. I've decided I'm going to have to line up all my weapons and start cutting them out. Keeping all exotics and useful crucible weapons and those I consider to be useful.

3 RepliesWhat i don't understand is this is how every other MMO works. There's no exception. Bungie shot themselves in the foot by allowing ascending, but either way this is the right choice. It's the only way they'll ever truly move forward.

5 RepliesSo please tell me what is the meaning of new DLC if you are going to use same weapons from the first year? A new DLC is coming and there will be a new arsenal for that which is make sense. It is simple. I really don't understand why can't you get this idea which is so simple? No sorry you have no any idea about what kind of game this is. I highly recommend you to play Call of Duty. Destiny is not a game that you are able to play. It's too much for you.

The only problem I had with dark below is that the new weapons were terrible. This time around bungie is giving us good options for weapons . Also I get the best guns because getting them makes me feel good. I have the perfect crucible auto rifle that I haven't even used yet. Also you really should have seen this coming. You're just a lame gamer who's mad at bungie for taking away your crutches. Also you don't pay for the weapons in money. You may have meant paying in time but that's what makes this game so great. There's always something new to work for. Oh and respond to this. I want people to see more of your points so I can understand your problem better

Ascension shouldn't have been implemented in the first place. If they want a 10 year cycle, old has to done away with and new has to be embraced. While some things, such as exotics, are too special to be forgotten, legendaries are grind-worthy and keep the game alive. Of course there need to be new things to grind for. If you could just keep your Fatebringer, Blackhammer, and Hunger of Crota at max damage for 10 years, you'd not only get bored, but you would also miss our on dozen upon dozens of new amazing weapons.

Lol I'm hyped for that exact reason! Honestly, I'm bored with the current meta and weapons. Imagine how fun it will be to discover new weapons and try them out. If they had etheric light in the TTK I would just use fatebringer, black hammer, and gjallarhorn and not try out new weapons. Also the old guns won't be totally worthless especially in PVP.

The reason you grind is to loot better shit with friends. It's called progression, a feature commonly used in mmos, it also works really well. Sure old video game are cool, but progression must take place, new ones must be made without the compatibility of the old. This process isn't new and it is normal. Just not to you, someone who has been spoonfed from birth the lies of entitlement and brainwashed to remain stuck where you are instead of dreaming for the next best thing.
