So Bungie just told us..
That the day The Taken King releases.
All that gear your grinded for for hours on end and worked hard to get is becoming useless.
All that ascending for nothing.

[b]We're getting remodelled weapons with different names and colours.
Devil You Know and Revelator have same base stats.
Red Hand IX and Lone.Rebel have same base stats.
Deadshot Luna SR1 and B-Line Trauma have same stats.
I'm so happy to dismantle my favourites for identical overall base stats DUPLICATES.
Everything will continue to be the same.
Yes "move on" to "better weapons".
All that changes are the name, colour and a slight adjustment to the models.. The attack value goes up.
Yet THE BASE STATS WILL DUPLICATE.[/b]
Edit: Yes this is my first MMO.
Yes I love the weapons I am currently using.
Yes I love playing Destiny, gameplay is incredible.
Yes I will complain when things piss me off.

Edit 3: If you're happy spending money for your weapons, that you worked hard for, to become obsolete then good for you.
I chase the weapons. You may chase armor, grimoire, experience or enjoy doing the same thing week in week out.
Insults don't affect me, in fact it shows how low your intellect is.
"They said wait" they shouldn't have to.
They shouldn't let people jump to conclusions.
They shouldn't let misinformation be released.
Edit 4: unlike the majority. I rarely use my fatebringer.
Final Edit: After reading many constructive replies and having checked in on Destiny today. I've decided I'm going to have to line up all my weapons and start cutting them out. Keeping all exotics and useful crucible weapons and those I consider to be useful.

2 Replieswell it was about time. why is a lv 34 running arround with lv 20 stuff? so much fail on their programming side... im glad that (if the info is correct) the new level is 40 and that you level it up by exp and not by light crap. maybe now they introduce us to gear that requieres you to be... lv 25, 30, 35, 40 etc. like it should have been, or at least thats how i think it should have been. i just hope they dont replace the guns on the vendors again but let them sell stuff like: lv 20 gears at rank 3, lv 30 gears at rank 5, lv 40 gears at rank 8 (or something like that). my guess on their crappy programming part is either activision rushed them or they simply didnt know how to programm that stuff right at first and just threw some things together and boom, destiny year 1. if they are going to be smart now they should release new gear for vog, crota and poe which may be for their respective levels (or max level) but have higher stats than the usual gear at that level. that way you could still run the old raids / poe and get useful gear. maybe even some special perks exclusive to that raid which could benefit you overall (more dmg to vex, more dmg to hive, more dmg to fallen / more defense against those races etc.) that way you still might want to wear a vog set for some vex activities because of the armor bonus instead of a generic armor set at your current level. but oh well.... now im interessted to see what they are going to do with the new gears. will the legendary stuff still be for lv 20? will it have the same defense / attack all the time? is it even worth equipping taken king armor or can you just stay with what you have? i hope they dont screw up to badly but i would lie if i say i wouldnt want to play taken king.

I can understand both sides Some have spent countless hours running raids looking to land black hammer or fang etc. etc. They get it and it's basically worthless But I would enjoy some new weapons and seeing some variety in pvp

Legendary items have usually become useless with every expansion... Until the etheric light changed that. Idk, as long as my exotics are viable I'll always be bumping legendaries around :).

I would like my guardian to be buried with my fatebringer but i understand why they did it. When HOW hit none of the new weapons could hold a candle to vog weapons at 365. Like the introduction of felwinters in IB & vex they just released something without thinking of the repercussions. The new year will be a pain with the old loot going but it will also be new and exiting . I'm looking forward to getting loot in Pve that i want to use . (POE sucked)

I'm fine with all the changes. It's just a shame that people just now starting to play are playing a completely diffident game than us beta players started with.

5 RepliesGuys. Seriously. Your current gear isn't gonna be obsolete overnight. Eventually, as you level up, you'll earn better guns and the ones you have won't seem as great. When j got the Mk37 hand cannon at level 18 I thought it was f'in amazing! Loved that gun. 13 rounds, as hard hitting as the current IB hand cannon, and was fun to play with. But then, I leveled up and it was forgotten for better weapons. We've been doing this all along. Why now, is it a surprise?

If they left the gally, and other OP weapons as they are forever, think about how ridiculous each new iteration would have to be in order to satiate our desire to grow stronger. Truthfully, i realize now that bungie blew their load [u]way[/u] too early, like some sixteen year old amature.

2 RepliesI'm just confused as to why the house of wolves even came out. Comes out in may to give us a badass pvp mode in trials and then poe was fun for a little while. So the ones that have grinded both to get some good looking gear and weapons goes into the trash?????? This makes no sense.
