The game was fun. Using the bad ass weapons I worked hard for has been fun.
It will be fun again to find things better than the almighty Fatebringer.
You've grown too attached.

I agree. I like finding new things rather than upgrading things I have.

So offer better weapons but why remove the viability of old weapons? If there is something TRULY better, then people will flock to it like hopscotch pilgrim. If weapons with dreg and shank burn are what's being offered through PoE, then clearly people will stick to something they already own. If a new hand cannon is truly better than fatebringer, people will want the new gun. But if once again the weapon is lackluster, now we are stuck with a crappy new hand cannon because old faithful fatebringer won't do enough damage.

As much fun as it was, I really don't want to use FB, VoC, IB, BH, GAlly for the next ten years.

You guys are missing the point. Expansion should be addition! Not making old stuff worthless. Plus, you don't have to use the old weapons if you don't want. Let's say you finally get the fatebringer one week before taking king drops. Taken king has another awesome hand cannon with different perks and clearly better than the fatebringer. People will still try to get the new hand cannon. They won't be forced to throw out old that they worked hard to get. Imagine trying to get one thing to drop for 1 year and you finally get it to drop and only get to enjoy it for 1 week? I'm excited to search for new things. But I also like my old things such as shadow price! In 10 years if I'm still playing, I might be one of few people rocking the shadow price. This adds to the legend that I've built since vanilla destiny. I can't rebuild a "legend" every year knowing that it will be all be for naught when yearly reset hits.

This has been and will continue to be the way of the MMO. New xpac comes out, old stuff you spent time on becomes worthless within hours, people stop playing after announcement until xpac drops. It's always been the program. No surprise to anyone. People Need To Learn To Let ... It ... Go
