While I see the necessity in churning out a new batch of desirable weapons, My gripe with the way it's handled are: 1) I think it is rather artificial the way they force the old weapons to be obsolete. Why not let us ascend our old stuff but improve the new weapons by adding certain flexibility that the old weapons don't have, like a materia system (like final fantasy) that will make the new weapons more flexible? 2) and if they are gonna change the way we level up and give the Meta a complete facelift, why not do it for destiny 2, instead of jolting the year one players of the current game? Anyways, I am pretty certain I'll adapt to the new rules, but just question some of their design decision. 2)

  • This is a problem with every single MMO out there.

  • Yeah. It's a fine balance between offering new contents while throwing the old under a bus. Same with employees in my department. I give everyone a promotion too soon and I run out of new positions to give them. Hopefully bungie will find a good formula to sustain them in the next 10 years.

  • I think the old stuff will be useful for a time. Then be obsolete the second month for high level players.
