I know some of you arent smart enough to have spotted this implication, but basically, light levels are being done away with, and normal leveling will resume, this means, you will lose that 34, and start again at twenty when the new dlc releases.
So whats your reaction to that, and the fact all that hard work for gear to level up islost?
Im suspecting that is your face above considering you just figured it out.
-
Oh god you mean I can see that gold border around my screen and actually feel accomplished when I get another level? DAMN IT -blam!- YOU BUNGIE YOU'RE ALWAYS MESSING THINGS UP!!!
seriously though hell yeah. All for it.
-
They need to fix that Urn of Sacrifice glitch. I could be to level 40 with those class items in less that a week of playing, probably.
-
Just feel like I wasted my time now the only way this works is if the convert previous stats into XP app those that have done 60 hard raid completions and killed a billion hostile are not in the same. Position as bloke that just completed the story once and did nothing. Glad I'm Binning this game once TTK comes out I'm. Off to play other things I've had my fun don't think I want to see my hard work burned to the ground which it seems like they are doing.
-
How will we play the nightfall or other end game content for that matter? Not sure how this will work out with current end game activities.
beta 1.0 lvl cap 8, beta 2.0 lvl 20 Destiny (The Rest of the Game) lvl cap 40?
-
Yeah, I thought about that, I kinda wish they would just level u up automatically based on how many times u leveled ur character previously (aka each more of light earned). So that I could just be lvl 40 when I start TTK
-
This reminds me of release, everyone is base level 20 you play through the story and reach Lvl 40. Weeks after ttk raid will be playable.? Destiny Pt.2 anyone?
-
Wait...so as soon as TTK hits everyone's going to rank 20? Ranking up better be quick...
-
The higher light you have, you should start with xp boost
-
Sounds like a good opportunity to start new toons
-
Lol keep changing the game to keep people interested and not get bored. Its genius on bungies part.
-
That picture
-
Needed to be done sooner rather than later. The light level system was just not going to work, and hindered a lot of the replayability of many modes and areas. Best to change it now while Destiny is still new, than years later when it has caused so many problems.
-
If we get dropped or not, im still glad to level up. We've all done it in countless other games so what's the problem. People complain it was to easy to get to 34 but when it takes actual grinding to get somewhere, they dont want to do it.
-
i dont care. its just a video game. i will play it and im sure i will have fun. some of you people treat this as your entire lives and thats sad.
-
The light system needed to go. It shouldn't have been in the game to begin with. Just gotta grind to get to level 40. I'm used to it now... *sigh*

Edited by Sanctus Michael: 8/5/2015 6:15:31 PMI don't think it's "knocked back" per se, you ARE 20. Take off your armor, or put on green or white armor, and your level drops. If your guardian could walk around naked, you'd be 20. The armor you wear buffs you to 34, but YOU... as yourself... are NOT 34. Without that armor, you're 20... and too weak for the events that matter. You are a weak, useless for end game content, guardian. Weak and sad. Sorry, but it's true. Currently we're 20 and too weak for end game enemies. So like handicapped guardians we need armor to make us worth a damn, to carry us. With the level changes in TTK, the guardian becomes strong... as themselves, for who they are... and the armor is just a tool. Not a crutch that's required to make us worthy or to make us matter.

I'm gonna wait to see how they handle the transition. If I haft to grind 20 levels times 3 again I'm gonna call it just not fun.
-
Love it. This is how it should have been from the beginning. This game needs to be more on the mmorpg side of things, rather than fps. This helps that cause. Let's be honest how much fun was it when the previous DLCs came out and we were max lvl within a day or two? That sucked. Part of the fun is lvl-ing the shit out of your character.
-
I think the new armor that you put on will allow you to be at level 34, however you can ascend to a higher level with said armor. I might be wrong though.
-
Im fine
-
they stated it was a "smooth transition". i'm sure we'll get to remain 34's while we transition off to 35 when ttk comes out.
-
Well, since the gear we have will still have light levels of 42 on it. It's more likely we will stay at 34 through that, and keep gaining XP. Once we hit rank 34 with XP, then we can remove that armor and not lose levels
-
Well, this is all rumor at this point. Anyway, I wouldn't mind if they change stuff up a bit.
-
I guess it's back to the old hamster wheel for me.
-
We don't know for sure if we will drop back to 20.
-
I'm just upset I worked my ass off for nothing.
