I know some of you arent smart enough to have spotted this implication, but basically, light levels are being done away with, and normal leveling will resume, this means, you will lose that 34, and start again at twenty when the new dlc releases.
So whats your reaction to that, and the fact all that hard work for gear to level up islost?
Im suspecting that is your face above considering you just figured it out.
-
I love it. Gives us a ton of new stuff to look forward to, I personally would not be excited if I just had to keep making the same weapons and armor I have stronger, I like new weapons and new perks, makes people have to earn everything again
-
Apparently we get one character to auto level to 34.
-
Doesn't bother me to be honest i think the light level was a dumb way of implementing progression anyways.
-
On one hand, it's cool that I can choose armor pieces I like and not the ones need for Light. On the other hand, what was point of building up all that stupid armor in the first place?
-
Crucible leveled me to 20 in 4 hours without any story lol... This is going to be a cake walk now.
-
Edited by HarlesinCharge0: 8/5/2015 4:44:44 PMNow you can do vog with the armor you start with.
-
Speak for yourself. I'd take a guarantee any day over "lol have this shader instead of that last armor piece you need".
-
In the articles they stated you would be at you current level when light is removed, so unless I misread it you will be at 34 not 20
-
O well fine with me. Losing levels doesn't bother me the fact that scrubby afk ers are gonna be able to sit idly and gain enough exp to reach max level is what bothers me. I see the point in why they're implementing this new feature in leveling but I hope they do something to ensure those who don't contribute don't get anything. Wishful thinking but those are my thoughts.
-
Good. Light levels dumb. Better gear will always be relevant even without Light.
-
All the xp we earned after the 20 Lvl cap. Should count toward the new Lvl cap.
-
I don't mind actually. Will be fun and entertaining to work on all 3 of my characters back to max level. Hopefully it will add a more defined and distinguishable line between skilled players and non-skilled players. Found it bull where shitty players shared the same levels as I had with very little effort.
-
Good. Something to do along with the story.
-
One character gets a boost to 34. Its not even much of and issue. I'm thinking of boosting my main then deleting and remaking my other 2 for 1 ~ 40 game play.
-
Edited by THEUNDEAD565: 8/5/2015 4:38:51 PMIf I understand the system correctly, and armor rating matters, we can be level 20 and still do level 34 things as we do now. That numerical number next to your head just shows experience now, instead of mattering as much as it does now.
-
No! I literally just got 30!!!
-
U STAY AT 34.
-
It's not confirmed that you go to level 20. In fact, it's more likely that if you're 34, you'll stay at 34 and level from there.
-
Edited by Killer_Panda6525: 8/5/2015 4:39:10 PMI couldn't careless kinda silly you needed to wear armor to be the max level But what i know for sure is i'm getting the XP boost from red bull and i'm going to do 10 bounties and wait for TTK to release and turn them in so i can be a higher level then most
-
Its an mmo old gear gets replaced, cant believe how many mmo virgins are moaning about it.
-
If its converted and yes you're at 20, but your current armor is also at 20 it shouldn't be a big deal. It would give you something worth playing towards, and make armor a lot more interesting than it is now.
-
You'll have to level up from 20 to 40 just like you did from 1 to 20. The new armor won't change your level. You can use the current armor which makes you 34, but you can't go higher than 34 until your guardian goes higher than 34. At least that's how I understand it.

It started out as a joke. My friends had joked about it - even egged each other on to try it. We all laughed at the concept. -blam!-ing a bowl of cheerios? The mere idea sent shivers down my spine. The initial roughness in texture. The cold milk shrinking my erect PENIS. "What joy could there be in that?" I thought to myself. After a few weeks nobody brought it up anymore. We'd moved on to different jokes and catch phrases as most groups do. They weren't as funny, but they definitely weren't as weird. We did the usual things and Friday was drinking day. By 2:00 am all four of us were plastered. Jake let out a long sigh after pounding another shot of SoCo and Kevin was loudly snoring on the couch. After a twenty minutes or so it was just Steve and I alone left finishing off our remaining beers. "Dude hold on," Steve smiled. "What's up man?" I said in my drunken stupor. Steve sloshed his way over to his refridgerator and removed a gleaming white bowl from the fridge. I instantly knew what it was. "What the shit -blam!- is that Steve?" I asked "-blam!-in Cheerios man. You should -blam!- them!" He seemed excited. "Dude it was just a joke. Don't tell me you…" I was cut off. "Naw dude I didn't -blam!- no cheerios. But I will bet you $50 you won't do it." I had my excuse. "Fine -blam!-er I'll do it." I was becoming erect already. "How will I know you did it, huh?" I froze up. My erection started to die. "Is this some elaborate ploy for you to see my -blam!-ing dick, bro?" I shouted, nearly waking our sleeping companions. "Nah dude I just don't want any -blam!-ing cheating, man. I got $50 on this shit." "Fine, I'll do it with my back to you and just stick my dick out through my fly." I was erect again. We both went silent. I carefully walked to the corner of the room and looked down upon the soggy mash of Cheerios awaiting my erect cock. They were Honey Nut. Without waiting I plunged my eager tool deep into the bowl. The milk washed upon my swollen testicles as they dipped into the soft contents of the bowl. I thrusted gently and realized how the cheerios seemed to react to the shape of my member. The bowl was deeper than I expected. I heard crys of laughter coming from Steve but I kept going. I wave of white anticipation struck me as my PENIS grew stiffer and my balls rumbled with an all to familiar feeling. I came. I came into that honey nut flavored bowl of beaten cheerios. My semen mixed flawlessy into the color of the bowl. My knees went weak. My breathing hastened. "I -blam!-ing love cheerios," I said with a smile. Three days had past since my first cheerio-man encounter. I had since then started experimenting with different things. I tried chocolate milk, but it the whole experience just felt… interracial. I tried adding sugar as well but the clean up became a hassle. Finally I settled on bananas. They were the missing part of the equation. The cheerio inspired orgasms had doubled in strength, but my roommates were growing suspicious. I had never ate cheerios in the two years we'd lived together and now I was going through a box per day. And nobody had ever seen me eat a bowl. I knew I had to be careful. I called Steve to to joke about it a few days after it had happened and he didn't remember. I lost $50 but gained an experience that can only be equated with touching God. It was a fair trade. With Steve out of the way I felt a little more relaxed. "But not as relaxed as I could be," I whispered quietly to myself. A grin formed on my face as I slowly exited my room and made my way down the stairs. Only my roommate Lynn was home. She was gorgeous, but I had no time for girls. I had cheerios.

My initial thought...
you're a fukball. :)
Well, unless I've missed some news release today, we don't know for a fact that we'll be working up from XP Level 20 at TTK launch, our current Light Level may equate to XP Level. That being said, whether it does or doesn't, I expect that in the short term that it'll all be relative in terms of competitive PvP and PvE (as difficulty levels will likely be adjusted either way) In the longer term, I'm looking forward to it as it'll be more aligned with progression in MMOs which I like. They reward time played more than the current Destiny RNG loot system tied to level which has been frustrating for some before HoW.

We don't know if they will convert your light level to experience level but essentially you are right. Most likely we will start over at 20, which is fine with me. At least the enemies will be challenging again for once with a level difference
