I know some of you arent smart enough to have spotted this implication, but basically, light levels are being done away with, and normal leveling will resume, this means, you will lose that 34, and start again at twenty when the new dlc releases.
So whats your reaction to that, and the fact all that hard work for gear to level up islost?
Im suspecting that is your face above considering you just figured it out.
-
We don't know if they will convert your light level to experience level but essentially you are right. Most likely we will start over at 20, which is fine with me. At least the enemies will be challenging again for once with a level difference
-
What hard work, you mean buying from vanguard
-
light levels were stupid in the first place. If we have to drop down levels to be away with them, so be it.
-
Pic is funny. And no. I don't care. I like playing because it's fun.
-
Finally....now I can actually....you know.....customize my guardian my way
-
I was thinking about this, actually.
-
I'm not surprised or shocked.. Just ready for all the fun!
-
I like it tbh it was way to easy hitting 34
-
Without the grind there is no Destiny
-
So all the armour and weapons i worked so hard for to ascend and max out completely are going to be useless? Guess im not getting ttk
-
Imo this change is even worse than the not being able to ascend gear or guns past year 1. First this leveling system was interesting, dynamic, and had to be thought out. Now switching to just XP makes this basically a race to 40 then done. Also it destroys the awe I once had seeing someone who had reached 30 in vanilla. I was a forever 29 and every time I saw someone who was 30 I was like whoa look at that guy/girl they're a legend they've got full raid gear maxed out. Now when I see a 40 I'll think look somebody who has a lot of time on their hands to level up. I left for 4 months between vanilla and when HoW came out and getting to 34 felt like fun I had to think of creative ways to get gear like running strikes for vanguard marks or PoE for etheric light to ascend what I had before. Now when someone joins Destiny it's like hey bro just grind your face for a couple weeks and you can catch up to what took me months to accomplish. I feel like this CoDiffies Destiny. How long before we get prestige levels?
-
Either or is fine. But to people saying light gear is rng based that is a completely wrong statement ever since HoW dropped. Etheric light and 42 light armor is guaranteed and easy to obtain with zero rng involved.
-
No proof of starting at 20. But honestly I'm glad about this. Makes it more of a traditional MMO yes, but the idea that your hours put into the game ACTUALLY affect your progression. Less RNG, which means more actual progression in this game rather than dumb luck. If anyone has problems with this, GTFO. Go play call of duty or something.
-
If they retroactively level me up for all the XP gained since then, I don't care. Been getting one mote of light per level. Should be able to figure that out.
-
Edited by Elitespear: 8/5/2015 4:16:04 PMYou wont get reset back to 20. You're making a misguided assumption.
-
Edited by ValiantSi: 8/5/2015 4:11:13 PMIt's what was wanted, needed and what we're used to. Should of been in from the start. I'm hyped for it. If there is enough activity to get close to lvl 40 naturally i.e, completing all new activities once. Then game on. And then we can really grind our way to 40 after that. Edit: by "close" I mean to the level we are out now. 30-34.
-
The reviewers at game informer said that their pre-ttk characters seamlessly swapped to be in the ttk version. I very much doubt we'll start at level 20.
-
I like it!! 20 level to gain sounds like great fun! I live watching xp fill up :)
-
I will wait for the actual Bungie Confirmed Details. Instead of all the speculation and potential misinterpretation by the community. However, I'd think that if many of us suddenly have 2 of our characters rendered useless to activities such as Weeklies, Nightfalls, Raids and PoE until we reinvest hours to get them back to where they could participate. It would be a poor decision and a bad move. The forums would be a very hateful place that day, with countless I quits, Bungie Wtf's and Are you serious? posts.

So that's why there giving out XP boosters with red bull. Makes sense now.
-
Cool I guess
-
WRONG! You will start at level 34 (assuming you are currently at the incredibly easily obtained max light level) and level up via XP from there.
-
Finally a goal that doesn't need grinding for gear that make you lvl up.
-
Heard there will be a one use item that bumps level to what is need for TTK. My two alts will have to level normally.
-
I don't really care, just promotes the idea of leveling more with the new subclass
