I know some of you arent smart enough to have spotted this implication, but basically, light levels are being done away with, and normal leveling will resume, this means, you will lose that 34, and start again at twenty when the new dlc releases.
So whats your reaction to that, and the fact all that hard work for gear to level up islost?
Im suspecting that is your face above considering you just figured it out.
-
I don't really care, just promotes the idea of leveling more with the new subclass

Edited by Semperfi1999: 8/5/2015 4:02:36 PMIf bungie is smart they will give enough exp to get ppl with lvl 34 chars up to lvl 34. Imagine not being able to play VOG after the TTK comes out until you lvl up at least 6 times......
-
Right, like leveling is hard.... Leveling was a joke in destiny.
-
Who cares? I started at level 1 and grinded my way to 20 four times. I'll do it again.
-
You're a -blam!-ing moron. And there is zero confirmation we will be starting at 20. -blam!-, I hate you. Go chug the anti freeze in your garage. Muted. Bye, fgt.
-
To be fair, removing light levels doesn't mean we'll be reset to 20. They could convert your current light level into an experience level, which would mean that 34-40 leveling is done in TTK content. And that would also mean that you level from 1-34 doing base game and the two DLCs. Basically, you're assuming stuff and calling it fact right now.
-
Can't wait!!!
-
You start at light level 34 Please look at twitter
-
I hope they bring it to lvl 20! The progress from 32 to was way to fast and easy! Thos way we'll have somethi g to do with all these new bounties!
-
Not confirmed, yet. And who cares?
-
I'm actually looking forward for the light level to be gone , we are going to be based on amour defense now which is good
-
I can't help but feel that defense rating will become the new equivalent of the imbalanced weapon stats issue though. Ie, some gear will be "nonviable" because of its low stats. Etc.
-
I'm happy for it, it gives more stuff to work towards and I always thought light level was stupid
-
I'm excited. I think it will be fun to have experience be relevant to something besides upgrading gear (again).
-
It's fine, I'll be lv40 with some swaggy common armour
-
No one knows if we start at 20 bro. I'm guessing we stay at 34, and that one character boost gets you to 28.
-
I just hope it requires time and grinding. I don't want to be Max level 2 days after release again...
-
Can't be happier

Edited by Gilkes: 8/5/2015 3:54:07 PMQuestions that should be asked: Will existing NFs, Raids maintain their current level requirements? How much game time would it take to get to the max level?
-
No your still going to be a 34 with Year one gear But the new gear will have a requirement of 40. Remember when it said "Level 20 Required" when you were below 20? It will be the same with the new gear.
-
I always thought light level was a retarded way to progress. Gaining experience and levelling up is the way to progress is rpg-like games. They did the first part right, but as soon as you have cleared the story and end up at lvl20, its simply an endless rng grind getting gear to progress further. It also limits further progression as its only being upped by new gear with higher lightlevel. They couldnt reintroduce normal levelling without getting rid of it, as they are doing now. Armor should only provide certain perks and stats and be unlocked at certain levels, this gives incentive to level (ooh, 1 more level, and i can finally try out that new helmet). Im just wondering how exotics will be treated, will they merely be top tier gear? Meaning, you need max level to use them again? And with the next dlc, youll lose the ability to use them, until you level up again?
-
I'm fine with it. That grinding for armor helped make year 1 satisfying but by dropping it I don't feel like I've been betrayed. I had fun playing all those hours for armor. And now I'm looking forward to this new way of leveling up!
-
I think it's great. There can be more gear combinations without sacrificing level
-
Hyped af because light levels were dumb. And it's not like hitting the light caps were hard in the slightest. All you needed was a moderately decent group of 3-4 people to run raids/PoE for armor
-
Considering there is going to be actual story this fall, I finally don't have to give a shit about gear and levels. Gah my hype train has no brakes.
-
Crucible FTW (rift and mayhem) to grind to 40
