I seriously doubt they'll make that distinction. It would be nice to see some of the more unique weapons like Black Hammer (although post patch it won't be unique) but I can't see it happening, especially as raid weapons are the biggest problem when it comes to over used vanilla guns. I suspect the comment about not breaking them up refers to the fact they will be useful at first (We'll need our old weapons till we get new ones) and not raid weapons specifically

Ok, ask yourself this. If raid weapons can't be ascended, what is the point of anyone doing VOG or crota? It would be completely pointless and would be the death of both raids, PoE and trials. Because the rewards from all of them would be useless.

Yep. What you think will happen to the story missions, strikes etc? They're obviously going to be updating the loot tables or everything that isn't ttk will drop useless gear. Most of this problem of weapon sticking revolved around guns like vision or fatebringer, I seriously doubt they won't get hit by the new stuff. The older content has to get some sort of update or everything pre ttk will be pointless, not just the raids.
