So... Are all the females in your family incapable of standing up for themselves or do you feel that females just... Can't...
My mother is an ex military vet and my sister and I studied judo and tiger-crane together. They would get pissed at me if I hinted that they were feeble because of their gender.
With that said, I would back any of my family members up if their well being was at risk no matter the gender. Because that's what families are supposed to do.

Given the biological disparities in strength between men and women....woment shouldn't have to stand alone agianst physical (and implied physical) threats from men. ....and even being a trained fighter is no protection from assualt. Just look at the problems that the Air Force Academy and other parts ofthe military have had in recent years. The *male* (he is not a man) who gets his jollies threatening and intimidationg women is the worst kind of bully....and should be treated as such. Not his "right" to be a jackass and a menance defended by people who, frankly, know better.

Guns make everyone equal.

Yes. Dead. In prison. Or on a therapists couch. Option of the ultimate last resort...and wouldn't be necessary if we men did a better job of policing our own.

Guns are for the weak.

Because everyone is a lunatic? You know guns can be used solely for self defense purposes, right?
-
Yes. But there is no killing----even in self-defense----without consequences.
-
That depends on where you live. I have the stand your ground law backing me up. And spare me the psycho babble, if it was in self defense I wouldn't lose sleep over killing my assailant.

Naw, it won't. I'm good. Thanks for the concern though.
