Yes, when we get expansions, we should get NEW stuff, not be forced to delete old stuff (due to irrelevance). Before someone chimes in and says it will still be useful in crucible, we've already been warned that vault space is limited (because thumbnails take up 96GB of memory each), but yet we should hold on to our treasured legendary weapons (when combined with the previous they are COMPLETELY conflicting messages). Fix the crucible first with dedicated servers, and then we can BEGIN to entertain that discussion.
I enjoy chasing stuff as much as the next person. Which is why I want to get MORE, and not completely undo what I just did. If we had more vault space, or a different way of leveling guns (removing light was a good start), or a way to ascend from one year to the next, I'd be okay with that. So I need Year 2 weapons to complete Year 2 tasks, okay. Then at the second half of year 2, I can ascend my Year 1 weapons to see if they are still up to the task (now - I've chased new stuff, brought in old stuff), and now I can decide which was better overall - Year 1 or 2. But now I get to keep the best of everything I've earned - VoG becomes useful from now until Year 10, and so does everything in this game. BUT - we have no idea, yet, because Bungie changes what they change every download (and in between downloads). AND - this method would almost REQUIRE the increase of vault space, especially as we move through Year 3 and then 4. Why paging isn't implemented or thumbnails is utterly confusing to me. Why can my 4 year old phone just flip through my account, see postmaster items, every vendor item, simultaneously 5 accounts' vault space (of 3 characters each), but an XBOX 360 can't store more than 60-80 thumbnail pictures.
This makes absolutely no sense. If this were addressed, and the ascension issue, a lot of these recent topics would be laid to rest. Of course, there will always be others - but these are the big ones.

Yeah you make good points. Who knows what the finished product will actually be but they definitely need to work on the vault space. I like the idea of being able to lvl the old weapons up. Even if it's just increasing the damage to year 2 weapons so they can still be relevent. They won't have the new perks of year 2 weapons but they could still have the damage. Either way I'm still gonna play, I have a lot of fun with friends and I think it's worth 40 dollars for how much use its going to get.
