Highlights: 1: Destiny Year 1 was essentially pointless. 2: Having Etheric Light and the ability to upgrade old gear did not stop players from going out to acquire the new content weapons and armor. 3: Having Etheric Light and Gear Ascension actually validates all the time and energy players invest in the game. 4: Replacing old weapons and armor for new stuff should always be a choice made by the player, not something imposed upon them.
