How would bungie determine what level you should be? Is it from the first time I load TTK whatever armor I had on that's the level I become? What if my 34 was wearing 32 gear?
Also I don't think it's safe to assume they have something implemented that tells them what your characters current max is/was. They may but I doubt it.

I am not saying they do or even will, but to assume everyone will drop to 20 because light is being removed is just dumb. Also, I think to do have something implemented already in this regard, you only have to look as far as moments of triumph to see they an track most stuff
