I'm pissed about it, but by NO means am I quitting the game. Stuff like this happens in every MMO, for example, in World of Warcraft, each large expansion replaces old gear with new gear, and there isn't a way to use old gear to an advantage (Except Transmogrifying).
However, in World of Warcraft, the expansions are HUGE, so nobody misses their old gear much, but, if The Taken King isn't as good as Bungie proposes, there could be a serious issue at hand.

That's what the tiff is right now...there wasn't near the content in TDB and HOW that there should have been. Bungie has now set the expectation with the player base that the same will be true for TTK. Bungie's word no longer holds the weight it once held given the under-delivering of the first two DLCs. Hence everyone's apprehension that we are going to be forced to take a step backwards with this expansion (leave behind our elemental primaries) for kinetic primaries that are crap like the queens weapons (primaries mainly). Only reason I keep FB/VoC/Fang/Abyss/Oversoul around is for the damage types.
