Please tell me how this effects the time you've spent in the game. Take away the light levels right now, we're all the same. Same gear, same stats, no change. You know why? We've all been level 20 this entire time. In world of Warcraft at level 100 you have something called an item level, it may be 645, but that doesn't mean you're level 645, as just like destiny the gear still have a level requirement, and I bet all of your current gear says level 20 on it, because that what you are now, and will continue to be tomorrow, and have been since you hit it...... Level 20. Your light level, or item level in world of Warcraft, or whatever it may be called in hundreds of other games using this same concept right now is 34, and even if it disappeared right this very second your gear wouldn't change, and VoG, Crota, ect would all still be just as easily completed. I'm really surprised how this simple concept is so hard for people to grasp.

It's not hard to grasp. The thing is, they said all legendaries weapons and armor alime, will be irrelevant in ttk. They say that even common weapons will have higher damage than 365.

I commend you for at least being civil. Same happened in wow, as level 65 green items were better then the best level 60 raiding gear. Hell most level 61 dungeon gear outclassed most raiding gear. It continues to happen in hundreds of games even as we speak.
