They will, but they (apparently) won't get any stronger than 365 dmg. So, they're essentially being phased out, by the look of things.

They will work for the first few missions but u will find stronger whites and greens very quickly

I don't get it... whites and greens? really? how can they be stronger? What will happen to current missions and getting whites and greens?

They are pushing TTK as a game so all new weapons and everything is resetting! It's year 2 WOOOO
