My whole thing to the "other stuff does it" is that it's piss poor logic to think like that. Because it's always been done that way doesn't make it right. "Don't you think having slaves is wrong?" "But we've always had slaves." I know it's a radical example, but it hits the point home. The issue is we've grown so fond of our weapons because they are the only defining qualities our character has. Practically never speaks, zero character development. The weapons are the personality. To strip them away makes our year one triumphs feel meaningless. I remember when I first started when I saw players with the raid weapons and armor. I viewed them as gods. They had seen and done things I hadn't. It defined their guardian to me. Telling us we've gained nothing but memories over the new incoming players just doesn't sit right with me. That, and they will never experience the vault or crota in any way like we did.

  • Lol you can still use you're weapons bungie isn't deleting year 1 weapons out of your inventory they just won't stack up just like vanilla Destiny weapons didn't stack up in tdb but people still used them right?

  • I don't understand how you think your reply changes anything I said. A numerical value coming between old friends and me is lame.

  • but there is no incentive to use them or acquire them. Even now, before the TTK, people still get excited about acquiring a new raid weapon, like Vision of Confluence or Oversoul Edict, and that can give an entirely different experience because you could ascend those weapons to be useful, a weapon that matches you. Take that out and you lose part of the experience that was fun in it's own right. It would be equivalent to being given garbage. Hell, with Crota so broken there is practically no reason now to go back.
