It is SO EASY to make new weapons that people would want to get and add to their personal armories. FOR EXAMPLE!
Name: The Dawn Breaker
Quality: Legendary
Weapon Class: Hand Cannon
Ammo Type: SOLAR Damage
Rate of Fire: 22
Impact: 81
Range: 40
Stability: 30
Reload: 30
Mag Size: 10
Special Perk: "Dawn Breaker"- Shots set enemies on fire, similar to Warlock Sunsinger Scorch Melee Ability.
There, how hard was that?

Sounds exotic

Plenty of Exotics aren't all that Exotic. Its illustrating the point, though.

Edited by Umcomics: 8/6/2015 1:48:15 PMI would still use fatebringer because it hurts enemies around the target when hit with precision damage. the explosion also causes arc damage, which is awesome for arc burn activities. I also have a choice between field scout and explosive rounds, not to mention outlaw, which would also make me choose fatebringer over that hand canon for the speed of the reload. Only way I would use something different is if the other weapon was more powerful, but that would only lead to power creep which can only hurt the game more. Plus that would be a weapon that causes damage over time, it would hit harder and be more stable than Thorn. and that would make the crucible even more annoying, also limiting even more the players' choices continuing the rule of the hand cannon in the crucible.

That Explosive Rounds, a possible 1 of 3 perks, bare in mind. I didn't include any of those but yeah, its as easy as just adding that as a possible option along with Field Scout and High Caliber Rounds to Dawn Breaker. And naw, we just gotta tweak the damage value of the DoT for both so that Thorn maintains its Exotic status by comparison.

That is exactly the point, it is not just come out and hey this weapon is more powerful so there. there is a lot that comes into it that can break other parts of the game. Part of what makes this game re-playable is the expectation of the loot, no better loot than what you have, then why keep going in, which is why I stopped playing PoE after the 3rd week. And don't get me wrong I respect the opinion of those who want to keep the weapons from year one, but I personally want to go into that - looking for loot and finding new guns that feel good and getting the perfect load out - mode, which honestly is not going to happen if I can just keep going with the guns I already have because they are awesome.
