I'm glad it leaked, personally. For a couple reasons. Its showing just how much Year 1 Destiny relied heavily on the acquisition of loot to keep players going, and how the content was seriously lacking in the case that there is quite literally now no reason at all to keep playing anymore because of this. The other reason is that now that we finally know their intentions, there's still time for us to try and convince them "hey, you know, this shit wasn't cool back in Dark Below when a lot of us left the game for the same exact reason. Don't know why you think its magically ok to do it now. Especially when you got people who already spent $100 when House of Wolves launched, which means they have had even LESS time playing the game before you decided to pull this shit." I mean, I've spoken with plenty of people in private who have told them that the only reason they got into Destiny was because of House of Wolves having Etheric Light, and they believed that meant a continued Gear Ascension system for the game going forward. One of the reasons they were on the fence about playing Destiny was because of this fact, since they don't agree with the notion of an FPS game like Destiny adopting mechanics from a game like World of Warcraft which is an entirely different kind of game design. So they went, got House of Wolves and now they're pissed that the TTK is coming out, way -blam!-ing cheaper (Like what was the point of buying the game when House of Wolves came out? But its not like anyone even knew about this stupid Legendary Edition for TTK at the time so a lot of folks got scammed BIG TIME), and on top of it their whole reason for getting Destiny, the Gear Ascension system, is basically being thrown out now. So yeah, people are pissed. Some are pissed off at me cause they only got the game because I recommended it to them after I saw what House of Wolves was offering. So Bungie got to make me look like a stupid asshole twice now. Which is just rubbing salt in the wound for me.
