I don't disagree, but my view is that is down to certain perks being overpowered (which have now been removed or toned down). I see it as them correcting mistakes and (effectively) removing guns which make the game too easy, but I can see how some people see it as a way for them to increase the number of hours people spend playing.

  • Not to mention just adding an artificial difficulty. They are nerfing shotties in pve but you still have captains that can kill you in one swing of their sword. Will the bosses all still be bullet sponges that you need to shoot for an hour to kill? Probably. Even if they make them less spongey then they nerf all the guns and return them to their former bullet sponge state. It is irratating.

  • Sorry just to add, I've run most of the content in this game solo (bar the obvious stuff). Surely I should need a fireteam to run some of the missions in this game? Suggests to me the weapons are generally OP compared to the content.

  • Wasn't the idea for you to level up to be some space legend badass? Doesn't feel that way honestly. Just shoot him 50 more times hes at 10% health and we got him...lol. I might still get TTK but I am seriously questioning if I want to. I have played since day 1 and have 3 34's on both systems. I don't need op weapons to do this stuff but it makes it more fun and keeps more players involved. Raising the difficulty too much cuts out a lot of players and you don't want that either.

  • You are right that I do not want this game to get too hardcore, but nor should the difficulty of the game be linked to obtaining (randomly dropped) weapons. Currently it feels like the weapons you have are more important than your skill level. That cannot be right either.

  • I guess I agree with you on that respect but that reflects more on the broken loot system. I have never required anyone to have certain weapons to participate in anything and I have carried plenty of people to help them for that reason. RNGESUS is a real jerkface.

  • True enough on the loot system. The whole idea of having to be "carried" annoys me. If I'm trying to run before I walk then that is one thing, but having to be carried through end game content because certain weapons haven't dropped for me is just plain wrong. To me it shows how unbalanced the weapons are and I don't think you get round that by making another set of even more powerful weapons. To me you balance the weapons and that lets you do away with the bullet sponge bosses and actually have some mechanics which test more than you ability to grind. I'm hoping that's what we get from a combination of patch 2.0, not upgrading existing legendary weapons and the new content from TTK. If we don't then I'm done with this game.

  • Pretty much feel the same way.

  • Or maybe getting back to the level of difficult it should have been before they realised the impact of certain perk combinations and the power of certain exotics? The bullet sponge thing is annoying, but sounds like we are getting three (four on PS) "mechanics" based strikes this time around so hopefully those days are gone. They also reacted when everyone started skipping Cerberus Vae III. If they made Valus Ta'aurc's heath any lower then he'd be dead the minute he walked through the door! You cannot make lower health bosses and keep the current weapons in the game. If they allow these OP weapons to be upgraded again then they will set the enemies health to reflect that. Instantly freezing out anyone without those OP weapons. A bit like a certain end game piece of content we currently have...

  • What weapons are you constantly referring to as OP?? The only one that remotely can be consider "OP" is gally, and even that should Be """OP""".
