Just because you have freedom of speech doesn't mean you should just go around slandering and degrading others. Or threatening them for that matter. That's just wrong. Have some civility

  • As long as I don't hurt the person it's all good.

  • Figured you would say something like that. Just play the blame game. "No, it's not my fault, it's their decision, not mine." Do you even take the time to consider your actions? Or even think about what you're saying? Eh, who cares? So long as YOU'RE not the one getting hurt. It really is saddening to see some people see absolutely nothing wrong with these situations, when they couldn't be further from the truth. Like yourself. Bravo, keyboard warrior. Bravo

  • Why would I take the time to think about my actions? As long as I'm not hurting that specific person I see no reason to.

  • Yeah. Then it's all good and dandy Except what about the mental and psychological harm you could be causing? Right that probably doesn't matter to you. What about if they decide to end their life because they just can't handle the abuse anymore? Nah, that still wouldn't matter to you. Not your life, not your problem right? Well it does matter. Your words have an impact on everyone, whether you're directing them at someone or not. So think twice about what you say

  • Naw it doesn't matter to me. If they want to slit their wrists or jump off a cliff that's their choice not mine. I didn't force them to do something like that. Everybody is responsible for their own actions.

So if you're wearing an orange sweater and someone ups and suicides over it because their granddad -blam!- him while wearing an orange sweater, you should just not wear orange sweaters? Fine, it's an extreme example. But reality is that how someone takes something is up to the receiver. Minding your words because someone might take issue with it is very reactionary, when the overlying problem is that people don't have a self-image stemming from an internal source instead of external sources. Which is basically a flaw with society at large... And not an easy fix.

  • But other people can at least help the problem and not be a complete jerk to someone else for kicks and giggles
