While I understand where you're coming from, they do need to leave the old guns behind. If they don't, they will have to constantly try to make better and better guns to encourage us to move on from our old ones. Look at HoW, very few of the new guns are worth going after. Many still use their old ones since they could upgrade them to the max damage. Combined with perks being phased out and in, many didn't see reason to move on. While this is a shooter, it's still heavily loot driven. Just look at all the post about players only going on to try to get that last exotic, and outrage when Bungie nerfs the guns players worked for. If we already have the best possible gear, what's the point of grinding away more? I know many that haven't raided in months, since there's nothing for them there. These same players obsessively ran it to get things. Compare to Skolas, most players view it as something to do once then you don't have to again.
