I get what you're saying. To brush off the small stuff. I agree. As far as company names. Dice on it's battlelog fourm. Stiv (can't remember other moderators name) will remove or lock posts/topics for many reasons, including violation of code of conduct. They will also suspend or ban for infractions and repeated infractions for the CoC. I will see a post where he writes something like user has been suspended for 3 months (or he may write 1 year) for violations of the code of conduct (or may write repeated violations for code of conduct) and this post has been removed. Or he may write this thread has been locked for violations of the CoC. Or he will write a warning stating how a user's post has been removed for violations of code of conduct and repeated violations will result in a ban. I'll have to search to see if I can find a link to an example. Sorry, I'm at work. I've been working on this reply for 1.5 hours and when I finally got back to finish it destiny was down for maintenance and I watched everything I wrote disappear. I'm writing now in a notepad app and rewriting what I wrote. My friend got suspended for 1 month by xbox live because he is a white guy (you can tell obviously when he talks on the mic), has an African American avatar, but a monkey for a gamerpic. An player reported him to MS stating he was implying that African Americans are monkeys. This isn't the case, he's a white guy who wishes he was born black. Point is, MS cares and punishes. And he was suspended from xbox live, which means all games using online capability or the online portion of a game. Btw, you're smart for choosing to never have kids. Stay free and full of money, lol. Point is, the world is changing and the tolerances of companies in relation to their public fourms are changing too. Little things are nothing, but things like r4pe threats or derogatory racial comments a company can't ignore. Imagine if I have a message from someone with text that falls within this sort of degree, wrote a complaint and reported it, that company ignored it, and I posted on youtube, twitter, Facebook, or where ever the message sent to me, the complaint to that company, then the company's inaction. It's a PR nightmare. Somethings a company can ignore, others they can't. Not if it's reported. And bungie has banned players for various reasons, but bungie specifically said they will don't list who or for what offense so as to not give these offenses attention. The who is ok, but they should state that x amout of players has been permenantly banned for this offense. If they don't, how can others learn? Just my opinion. My sympathies that you know first hand the damage of words and emotional abuse. But that also at least provides you an understanding about others pov. Small things I get, but even you must admit a line must be drawn somewhere and that bungie needs to start enforcing CoC with at least suspensions. Otherwise we have anarchy.
