Whether or not we call it an MMO, isn't really the issue though. He was saying that the weapons we have are more than just static stats that are all the same on the guns we press a button on. because of the attachments, each gun is fundamentally from each other. For example, someone with a headseeker outlaw super pox is going to have a completely different gun from someone with a reactive reload glass half full super pox.
The thing is that for alot of us, we see identity in these weapons. Be it good or bad.
Where as in most MMOs they were just stat bonuses. Which in the previous regard is something destiny did right. What they are doing wrong here is giving us that sense of identity and promptly taking it away from us in a misguided attempt to keep the game "fresh". If they keep pumping out new guns with good attachments, people will continue to expand and improve their arsenal, keeping the vintage and the new, picking only the most choice weapons, and that's really what it should be, right?
