Well, Cozmo is saying to hold onto our stuff, and they have said that raid legenderies may be treated differently, but in the end the new guns will have a more available perks and better perks, so you more then likely still use your guns, but the new ones will be much much better.
And borderlands also does this, it's not an MMO. So it's not an MMO thing. It's a saturation thing.

Borderlands doesn't do this. If you want a higher level version of the same bit of gear you have, its out there for you to find and it will still be as viable as what new stuff you can find in the DLCs

I swear, people must not know what traits an mmorpg has. You seem to. Downside is that there's far too many people that say it's not an mmorpg when it clearly has every trait so far

This is not the case for people who played before a DLC, like right now in destiny, those people now have to grind for hours again to get a gun they already have because of a level increase. Now, you still have that gun, it will just be less usable, and there's still room, as Bungie has proven, to change it and make those guns viable in some way.
