But their not forcing you to do anything. If you want to keep using your old stuff keep using it. If they keep allowing older stuff to be upgraded all they will do is create a power creep where everything gets too powerful. Bungie's mistake was allowing older stuff to be upgraded in the first place going against their original statements in keeping gear lock in time for that specific purpose.

  • Easy solution; balance the gear to match new stuff. Think about it this way; PvP is the only area where weapon imbalance can negatively effects players, right? Well, levels don't matter in PvP, so old weapons will never go away from Crucible. Seriously, the only area that will be negatively effected by this "power creep" will never, ever stop being effected by it. Capping guns at 365 literally only hurts PvE players, which is a cooperative mode where so-called "overpowered" weapons benefit everyone! Capping gear doesn't help balance PvP at all, and in no way hinders Crucible players. All it does is give PvE players a gigantic kick in the teeth, in the name of "balance," despite the fact that there aren't any positive aspects to the change. -_-

  • Overpowered weapons in PvE would make it very boring though.

  • That's completely a personal opinion. But I actually agree with you! Ghorn is immensely overpowered right now, and I think using it is boring, too. And you know what? I don't have to use it! If you feel that overpowered gear is boring, then you have the ability not to use it. :D Just because you don't want to use it, doesn't mean some one else shouldn't be able to. If Bungie allows players to upgrade gear, it doesn't effect your choices at all, and you'll be free to play the game however you chose; if Group A gets to make the same choices in both scenarios anyway, why is Bungie limiting Group B?

  • This is how gear progression works beside why should year one weapons has the same damage as year two. Year one was made for year one which is where it should be effective for not year two. If this is the case why even have tiers to the weapons and gear just have everyone thing be common with different perks.

  • They let us upgrade Vanilla gear to 365. "Vanilla gear was designed to be useful in Vanilla activities, why should it be useful in DLC #2!?" They already set precedence, man.

  • Which I stated earlier was a mistake they should have left the weapons lock in time like they said they would.

You must not know what obsolete means. It means that the weapons they introduce will be better than the ones you have now, deal more damage over time, essentially, to higher level enemies

  • And. The nercochasm is a bad gun and I still use it from time to time even if it is not effective. See I can still use whatever weapon I have.

  • Didn't say that you couldn't use whatever you want, I'm just annoyed that people throw around the term "obsolete" without any knowledge of how something becomes obsolete or knowledge of the definition of the word
