Honestly... I agree with this wholeheartedly. I used to play WoW, and I LOVED it. I remember my first time transitioning from Vanilla to Burning Crusade, then Burning Crusade to Northrend... Each time my epics were replaced by greens (uncommons). The first time it hurt really badly, until I realized my characters animations and attack patterns hadn't shifted at all. All that had been modified is my damage output. The only thing unique to any weapon was its 3D model. Destiny is not WoW. Guns have WAY more personality to them then my hundreds of axes and longswords in WoW. Fire Rate, recoil, range drop off, sound effect, 3d model, perk spread... All of these things make up a gun, and give that gun personality. Having those personalities-- not just stats-- taken away in everything except for plain Crucible is very disheartening. And not that I don't want new guns... I do! But why must I leave behind the old? Have Fatebringer and VoC really stretched the engine Bungie has built so much that they must be removed from PvE to proceed with idea of 'new guns'? Getting rid of Legendaries seems like Bungie is giving up, admitting that maybe it already gave us guns that were the peak of what this engine could produce and so they must wipe the slate. This is not in the favor of the player, it's in the favor of the developer. Destiny is not an MMO. It's a shooter. I know this because i love both MMOs and shooters. Don't take away my shooting implements.
