All I read was "but this isn't a mmo" there is no trading but it has more in common to a mmo than any other genre. First (this is my opinion) when the game launched they had major problems from the get go, and they knew this! They have said it even in recent interviews. The expansions were obviously just band aids to keep us busy until taken king was finished. They are overhauling the game! Story, loot system, armor, weapons, reputation, leveling system you name it! We basically played a paid beta. No if ands or buts. Second. This is how online gaming works. This may not be wow or Diablo but it is still a massive online role playing game. ...(we level up we do raids we get common rare and legendary loot we have strikes like the only part that doesn't make it a mmo is the fact there is no trading and the amount of people on screen is limited.) The things they are doing is extremely typical of online games massive or not. You add new content and make old content something from the past. Yes there will be a lot of the core product still there for other players new and old to experience. But certain events, weapons and armor are obsolete! This is not new! I absolutely love my legendary weapons and armor and I don't want to get rid of them but I understand the need to move on to better gear for the evolution of the game. Come on you know you get bored using gjally for everything and vision of confluence and fatebringer! Its time for some fresh weapons and armor. I do agree that they should give people the choice though. I think they could have avoided the up roar if they had left etheric light out of the equation. Etheric light just gave people the expectation that they would be bringing everything with them. In light of all the news and whining of loosing everything, I'm extremely excited for the new content. I want new weapons and armor and strikes and raid and patrol and tweaks to the existing content and finally possibly some story so I know what the -blam!- is going on! So yes bring it on! I'm ready!
