The bigger issue is the fact that these are the weapon that we have worked on and poured time, experience and Glimmer into. They are in some cases our right/left hand. They also allowed us to ascend the weapons to HoW level so to suddenly take this ability away and say your weapons and armor are now effectively useless (after 20-34) is kinda a Gjally to the balls.
I find this to be an issue for PVE specific people as PVP players can just run Trials or Iron Banner and have a new primary with the higher Attack values and elemental attribute. PVE is going to be a pain as people will have to level up find out if the vault/crota has new primaries with the increased damage and if not they have to run the dreadnought to see if they even have a chance for a new one.
Also forcing people to change armor will not result in a more diverse populous as Raid, and Trials gear still sport the best attributes. I give it two weeks before everyone is wearing some version of the same armor with different shades and have the "must have" primary.

Edited by AttilaTheNvn: 8/7/2015 1:33:12 AMGood points. I agree, PvE players are the only ones really being effected, which seems odd considering the only possibile argument in favor of outmoding gear is because it might be overpowered, which only negatively effects PvP, which is the only area that old gear will continue to be useful in. It makes NO sense.
