Destiny is in fact a FPSMMO.
if you can't deal with that fact then I'm sorry but you're wrong. It's good to let go of using your old weapons for new content in a loot game because otherwise whats the point???

It's not an MMO, it has MMO influences, but won't act like other MMOs.

Why the hell would I want to let go of my old weapons for new ones that are terrible in comparison perk and base stat-wise to my old ones? Any other game I've played like this, like Borderlands, the new weapons are better than your old ones and you want to upgrade. Not Bungie. Make crap new weapons and then nerf down the old ones to prevent anybody from using the older ones so they can extend their game out more while shoving people into the weakened new weapons. People are dumber than a post and can't even see that's what is happening.
-
Exactly! Bungie released awesome vanilla game weapons and now they are too scared to release anything OP so they are killing the old weapons to release newer weaker ones. Bungie originally planned for all weapons to level with you even blues so you could make your own legend with whatever you wanted ... WTF happened to that Bungie?
-
People keep referencing Borderlands, but they're two different games. Borderlands had basically nothing else going for it except for the mass amount of guns.
-
In borderlands, I have to give up my weapons purely because the numbers are better. (You can get rare drops at level 23 that are outclassed by lvl 40 whites) In destiny you'll have to give up your weapons purely because the numbers will be better. What's your point?
-
My point is that even though the new weapons will have a higher attack number value by a forced upgrade by Bungie, the overall base stats like mag size, range, stability and perks will be worse compared to the original guns that we had. I would have no problem if Bungie put in other guns and that we had to grind to get them again. I'm not against getting new weapons. What I am against is Bungie putting in new guns with an artificially introduced higher attack cap combined with inferior stats compared to earlier guns while forcing us to abandon our old ones for effective gameplay and requiring new ones. If the new guns would have similar perks to the old ones, like field scout and hammer forged and we had hand cannons with magazine sizes of 12 and field scout scout rifles, I would immediately shut up and be onboard with getting the new weapons. They don't.
-
The are getting rid of the unique part of the weapon so everything is about the same. There will be no exotic weapons/armor or the perks really won't matter.
-
Things are changing. Old weapons won't even be themselves anymore. 2.0 is changing a lot. Hand canons with 12+ bullets won't be prominent anymore (except hawkmoon). And other things I can't exactly remember from the update. Those perks you listed won't be as effective anymore, the bonuses are being decreased. There's a reason it's destiny 2.0. The game is changing. Just take a seat back and wait for the expansion to launch. The equips may suck, or they may not. don't buy it until you hear about the quality of the equips. I'm preordering. Despite a lot of the lackluster features in the other dlc, I still had fun in them. Deadshot Luna is honestly my favorite scout rifle... next to Mida but that's an exotic. Just take it easy bro, don't bust a blood vessel about virtual things out of your control.
-
except you dont actually have to give up your guns. Nobody is saying that you cant use your Fatebringer or Vision of Confluence against a taken enemy. There's nothing saying you can't.
-
Sure. Nothings saying I can't use the khostov. Just a matter of efficiency.
-
But it's not like the efficiency matter is even that big either. Unless they make the new damage modifier like gigantic like 5-600 damage instead of 365, a 365 to 400 difference or something along those lines is small in comparison. It's like how people were still using Fatebringer in Crotas End versus Word of Crota. Word had 31 damage more than the Fatebringer, but people still used Fatebringer over it. The efficiency wasn't really that much bigger because 31 extra damage versus the utility of other things the other weapons had was a small loss comparatively.
-
You're right. But considering the fact I've heard common weapons will be more powerful than our legendaries, I think it's safe to say the jump may be pretty big.
-
Give me one solid reason why players shouldn't be able to use new gear and old gear. Convince me that allowing me to potentially upgrade my gear negatively impacts your experience in any way.
-
because there's no reason to play the game otherwise because rather than just add more content with re-playability they are saying, we'll add repetitive content but to make you do it again we will fabricate grind. Like: Bungie: here are new boots you need to carry more heavy ammo. Player: But i already have boots that do that. Bungie: Yeah but now you need these boots that do the exact same thing.
-
You're giving very minute examples. An armor with heavy ammo perks on it are common, the raid boots are raid boots, you know you need them, you need them to hit max level. They are not telling you that you can't use your old weapons. You can, in fact, because the irony of it is that you idiots keep telling us they arent adding in new content but keep replacing the old stuff, but this entire expansion is a direct rebuttle to that statement. They are giving you brand new content that requires new armor and guns to use. This does not mean that your current guns and armor are useless. Fatebringer still does bonus damage to oracles in the vault of glass, it still blows shit up on critical kills; it's certainly not useless. There are multiple uses for your old weapons due to the fact that old content is not being replaced, it is being added upon. If you were to keep using the same old weapons every expansion then that is replacing content. Bungie has never been replacing content, ever, it just so happens that older content gear is better than current content gear. But if they were to replace old content, they'd literally delete vault of glass, delete crotas end, and replace them with the Taken King raid and say fuk it. Your entire opinion is countered and negated by common sense and knowledge.
-
the only reason i need raid boots are heavy ammo. And the new boots do heavy ammo like the old boots. big whup. Vault of Glass. Man i haven't run vault of glass in 5 months. There's no point. It's not enjoyable. You're just a sheep getting sheered. Enjoy it.
-
I give good examples of why you're wrong and now I'm a sheep. That's a very common butthurt 12 year old mentality.
-
Dude Bungie said it was your legend and that is why they are controlling how you play!
