I don't find it was a waste of time at all to be honest, because I got to share the up and downs of the game which has been mostly entertaining.
I don't care about any of the weapons I have right now apart from Hardlight but the rest I'll probably delete if I have to.

It doesn't bother you that Bungie is essentially taunting you, giving you a taste of what should be (fun, powerful weapons with good perks) then taking your hundreds of wasted hours, countless raids, and nightfalls/PoE completions, and dangling it all in your face while they steal your enjoyment right out from under your nose and smash it to bits while they laugh at your misery?.... that doesn't irritate you at all? Or do you like to be trolled, taken advantage of, laughed at, mocked, and bent over by a company that has one hand in your wallet, while the other jabs your eyes out just for good measure, to get metaphorical with it..

And you don't find it frustrating that the weapons that are the most effortless and natural to use, the most versatile, and the most effective across the board.... already made irrelevant once, and saved from irrelevance by ascension... it doesn't frustrate you that Bungie is yanking those incredibly enjoyable, truly fun-to-use weapons away from you [b]yet again[/b]?

Not really, it'd be a pretty boring game playing with the same weapons for 10 years, I'm pretty bored of them now actually

You don't [i]have[/i] to use the same weapons, I would just appreciate retaining the ability to [i]choose to[/i] use the same weapons. Edit: particularly when the newer weapon choices are so exaggeratedly inferior, and just not at all fun to use, at least as far as I am concerned (the exception being 2 of the 3 PoE exotics)

You still can choose to use them, you're just limiting yourself by not choosing the new weaponry.

To be frank, if we never had the ability to ascend gear in the first place, then I wouldn't be so bitter about this.. but the fact that they gave us this option, played it up like crazy, even.... only to immediately turn right around and take it away. That's just -blam!-ing irritating, and another example of poor customer-relations, not to mention foresight and planning.
