Upgrading to Xbox One TODAY HELP

Hi so I'm about to buy an Xbox One right now. I currently play Destiny on Xbox 360. [b]ARE MY CHARACTERS AND GEAR TRANSFERABLE[/b] I'm being told different things by different people. Also, If I bought Destiny on disc for 360 but have both DLC's digitally, what do I need to buy for Xbox One today?
