He said he made man in his image. And by man he meant Adam. If you read genesis, when Cain killed Abel, God had Adam mark Cain, because as punishment Cain was to leave the garden and go out into the world, so no one would harm him. Cain them found his wife and so on. Meaning the world was populated.
What I get from that, Adam and Eve were not the first humans. They were the first created without sin.

Yes. And that's where all those apocalypse stories in ancient history come from, the world was cleansed in fire and water. Wiped out the dinosaurs. Etc. and God started over not quite from scratch with Adam and Eve:)

Flood happened after Adam. Oddly enough, there are multiple stories from different civilizations accounting the great flood. I watch a documentary on Netflix. But yes. People assume God's days are the same as ours.

I'm just gonna say (although I believe the Flood actually happened), those points don't mean that a worldwide flood is the only option for those. Especially #1... 6,000 years isn't enough time for fossils to form.
