Problem is people really won't move on to new weapons unless they are just plain forced too. Weapons in destiny are only replaced when they are outclassed.

 • But my question would be, why should we have to move on? What difference does it really make if I want to keep using my A.1F1 scout rifle for ten years? You don't have to. Why give us fewer choices instead of more?

 • Progression of loot. Even if it's just numbers, rpgs need you to move on to new weapons, even if the past were "better". It's like getting a yellow weapon at level 23 in borderlands. That legendary weapon will suck later on. Besides, it seems like bungie has better en playing around with weapon archetypes. That's why you've noticed changes.

 • Makes sense I guess. I'm not particularly upset about the new weapons or lack of ascension, what bugs me more is when they remove old weapons. I collect legendary scout rifles. I enjoy ranking and trying them all out. Yes, I've ascended my beloved A.1F1 but I've also been enjoying using the new Wolves Leash and Hygiea Noblesse. Sadly there are a couple of older ones I never got, and never will. Of course that's all irrelevant if they don't give me more vault space soon. I'll be forced to stop collecting anyway, which is just one (of many) of things that makes the game fun for me.

 • Fair enough. I'm can feel for you, as somebody who loves scout rifles as well. Out of curiosity, which legendary you've used would you say you liked the most? Also I'm sort of an anti collector so I never have vault problems. That and I only half... half? The exotics probably.

 • I love my Vision of Confluence and really enjoyed the Saterienne Rapier as well but if I could only take one scout rifle with me throughout destiny it would definitely be the A.1F19x-ryl. It's lacking any burn, but it has a nice balance of range, impact, ammo capacity, and came with firefly, and lightweight/field scout. It was also one of the first legendary rifles I got, so that factors into it as well.

 • I don't try them or use them cause I don't have the room to see if I like them so I stick with what I know I like and I should not be forced to give them up in order to continue in the game. I however can just not give them my money and move on to something else.

 • Lots if games force you to give up on old loot. Games beyond MMO's. Borderlands pops into mind. Don't act like it's a problem specific to destiny. Also they said they're trying tod increase vault size.

 • But ltr on u can get the same copy with better stats in borderlands however for destiny you cant find the same vision of confluence with better stats why? Because theiy dnt do that theirs ascending however but when ttk comes out it will be removed so it is an issue and tbh borderlands way better in all things than destiny. Had emotion, lots of humor, bazillion weapons u can find huge locations and kick ass bosses. However destiny unfortuntely has not delivered this yr at all except raids but even those had an ass load of bugs and glitches in the couple months. Even the rng loot in their was broken. And now the issue here is they said we can make our own stories but whats the point of that if their taking the weapons from raids and special weapons making them useless? Oh but your rewarding yr 1 players cosmetic items we wont care for in a week? The one thing we do care about is our weapons and the weapons tell that story and its being left behind....you bungie told your fanbase u can put whatever weapon and armor you like and still (have fun) but in reality your forcing new weapons on use and expect to leave tht part of your story behind and try your new toys. However it would be better if we can upgrade our vog,ce,poe,ib in ttk giving even more arsenal weapons etc. Plz gents understand deep deep down that this cant be left behind.

 • People only move on to new weapons when their forced to in this game because the weapons from the previous DLC typically outperform the newer weapons. If Six Dreg Pride had better perks than Fatebringer, would anyone still be bothering with Fatebringer?

 • Hense why bungie is nerfing all year one legendary perks like perfect balance, field scout. Those types of perks that make the vog gun supreme. It's all a ploy to sell TTK

 • Yes actually. People used it in the dark below despite the numerical weakness it held. People will keep on using the same stuff till they are forced to. Would you have preferred that the vanilla guns sucked and the good weapons behind dlc? Then you would have people complain about that.

 • Well I used VOG weapons in Crota UNTIL I got the Crota weapons. We will do the same thing with TTK. Maybe some people are die hard VOG weapon fans and use them non stop, who cares. I like them all and use hive weapons on hive, VOG weapons for oracles... You see what in saying. Why isn't that a good thing to have great weapons for different battles? I thought the TTK weapons would have taken damage perks. And i would have grinded to get them. I'm not gonna grind( which is like 80% of the game) for a weapon that's only good for 2 months.

 • Is it really so surprising that people keep using good guns over worse guns? If Bungie really wanted us to move on, the best way to do it would be to give us guns that perform as good as the old ones, but differently. Instead, Bungie is going for the "stick" approach with no carrot: driving us away from guns which continue to outperform weapons that are theoretically in their tier (i.e. Raid-tier) and simultaneously driving people away from a game that seems determined to force them to switch out their gear every 4 months. I like switching things up and trying new guns, but only as a way of switching up my playstyle, not out of the shear necessity of keeping my damage relevant.

 • Yep. Bungie -blam!-ed up. They know it. I've got a pretty good feeling the loot in the taken king will be pretty good. I'm looking forward to it.

 • Your confidence is inspiring, but after all the mistakes they've made, I'll need a little more than faith to convince me to stay with this game.

 • Fair enough. I think there's a lot of people thinking the same thing. This is honestly bungie's last chance. It'll keep a dedicated fan base (probably people like me), but it's gonna lose a lot of players. Which is really bad for a game that's supposed to go on for 10 years. Be skeptical. Keep bungie on their toes. Debate in the forums is a good thing. Just don't be a jerk like a lot of people on the forums are... I feel like I'm trying to sound higher than I am by saying that. All well. I'm gonna go level lord of wolves.

 • If the old guns were outclassed by the new in the NEW CONTENT nobody would have an issue. It's that with the nerfs coming to year one legendaries people such as me thing year 2 weapons won't be better. But will just fill that spot.
