When asked specifically about a level 34 guardian, Deej says you will take your first steps at the level you are now. The level you are now my issue with this is... a) the level you are now is 20 b) even if he means 34, why use the phase "your first steps"? Will we stop in as a 34 and have our light level ' sucked out ' of our armour, leaving us at 20 again? I'm not arguing or insulting you.
