Do don't go to level 20. You stay whatever light level you are and have to rank up to 40.

DeeJ never said that. He said you would be "good to go." You don't have "a" Light level. It depends on what gear you're wearing. We don't even know what day and time TTK patch will be loaded. What if you weren't wearing your 34 gear? You'll be 20, and your amount of light will determine how successful you are at end game content.
