It's not meaningless to me. My friends and I have made fond memories of the first year. Our weapons and gear shows our rewards.
I don't need anything else from them. I'm happy.

They need to you collect a new set of weapons because all legendaries will be crap come Taken King. Also that emblem is meaningless as most emblems are.
