I haven;t completed all my triumphs either. Got to 2nd mines today on Skolas, 1st time doing it, and you know what feels cheap?
Splash damage Wiping cause the scorch cannon splash damage after spending 1.5 hours already in the prison, and it feels like prison cause you can;t get out without erasing your progress.
Did it from a random group from LFG, so why don;t we get matchmaking for this if its supposed to be easier than a raid?
Spent another 45 mins but never did kill him. Oh well quit and come back. Need to start again is total horse shit.
The +1 makes it feel cheap, cause I know when i;m on level with the mobs, this is going to be a total joke, just like Crota HM.

If you got to 2nd mines, then you can kill Skolas. 2nd mines comes when Skolas has 25% health left. When it's near this, make sure every has full rockets ready (No GHorn needed, but does help obviously). Basically at around 30% health kill all adds first, then use primary / secondary only on Skolas until you hear the announcement for the 2nd mines. Once you hear it, everyone on your fireteam switch to rockets and let rip on him (still keeping an eye on your taint timer). By doing this Skolas dies around the time the 1st mine spawns, with him dead just dismantle the mines in peace. Give it a go next time. good luck!

thanks, will try that when Smalls arms isn't a modifier, as it neuters any damage not done by a primary weapon.

It's fairly easy with small arms. Get pretty good crits with a scout with full auto and you can keep your distance from his scorchy balls. Unleashing 42 rocket rounds as 2nd mines are announced is always the way forward though.
