My first Vault of Glass run we cheesed the Templar with the Warlock grenade trick.
My first Crota's end run we cheesed the 2nd bridge and pulled the ethernet cable on Crota.
It wasn't really by choice but just happened that way for me.
I think it would be fun going into the new Raid knowing anything about it and just see what happens.
What's your story?

Edit 2: 500 comments!
Edit 3: Thank you everyone for sharing your stories. I'm amazed that most people didn't cheese it for the first time. Now let's break out the crackers and spread the cheese while we reminisce about year 1 and anticipate year 2.

First Vault run was at 25 with a bunch of other 25-27's when nobody really knew anything about it. Took us over six hours. Was a whole lot of fun actually learning as we were playing.
-
Pushed the templar off the edge
-
Nope on both raids. My second run through VoG, the team cheesed Templar, and I had no idea what they were doing. As we just sat there pushing, they explained. Eventually I called them out on it. "This is taking forever. It's not that hard, and takes just as much time. This is boring." After hearing about the bridge cheeses, I made it very clear going on that I wanted my first run to be legit.
-
My first raid cheese is cheesing templar using the far left platform. If you know what i mean.
-
Not knowingly. I joined a VoG Atheon normal checkpoint and the group was pushing him off. I had no prior experience to that part of the raid so I just thought that was how you beat him.
-
Yes. A very long time ago when you could kill Atheon's by pushing him off the edge. Two warlocks in my group grenade spammed Atheon off the edge.
-
Didn't we all?
-
Nope. Did VoG second day and crota first day. No cheeses were that widespread at that point.
-
First time VoG- cheesed templar. Learned proper way on my second run. First time Crota- Got invited from a friend who was already at crota and they asked if I could pull my Ethernet cable. Only did that one time. Can run every part of crota easily now including bridge the right way but no one wants to do it like that. New raid- I'm going in completely blind. Have a few friends that want to do it that way also.

My first raid was in September. Non hard mode. My profile got hacked back in october two weeks after they gave us those kackolantern gift. Havent necessarily had a correct connection to servers on x1 since those days. I will not be buying taken king cuz 1.1.1 updated unproperly for me.

VoG, never (except once with the oracles)

Edited by Raevenent: 8/9/2015 8:16:06 AMI cheesed Crota and thought that's how you do it, until I said "Lets try and do it legit" and we got that done on 1 try on my very first legit bridge, from that day forward, all my friends cheesed crota, we run it every week and one of my friends joins and says "lets cheese this part" and all 5 of us are like "NO" and he said "But it can't be done legit though" Boy was he proven very wrong that day, this was on hard mode keep in mind, Crota's End is technically harder than VoG if you do it legit, and it's actually more fun doing it legit too. So pretty much we do it legit and no cheesing to this very day, even when light was capped at 32. I find it sad that some people cheese it and they're lvl 34. TTK comes out and people still cheese Crota if anyone will still run it >_> same with the new TTK raid.

Edited by FlapjacksNsyrup: 8/9/2015 8:15:52 AMCheesed Templar my first time by knocking him off the edge with grenades. We did every other part legit though. That was the only time I cheesed any part of VoG.

First vog i did cheese it. I cheesed the templar when we were all on the far left side off the map. BTW i didnt think of it that much of a cheese. No i did not cheese crota my first time.
-
On my first vog, there was no cheese, everyone did it legit at the Time Crota on the other hand, I didn't get that dlc at launch so I by time I did it everyone were doing the cheeses
-
nope, to this day for some reason, I find Atheon easier than the Templar.
-
I ran Vog normal with some friends who had done it way more than me. At Templar they had me hide under a ledge with the relic and said "listen. Don't move. Don't even look at the Templar, stay here and we'll take care of it." So they went out. Did something, had me cleanse them a few times, then I got a shotgun. I had no idea what was happening.
-
Man....I thought you were gonna say something about pushing Atheon off
-
Edited by smooth_17_: 8/9/2015 5:24:24 AMOf course every LFG group I joined would always push Templar off
-
I'm happy to say that my first completions of either raid were before they even had cheeses discovered yet. Even when you know what to expect to an extent, going in with a team full of people who haven't actually seen it done is probably one of the most exciting things you can do.
-
Did it all legit honest done vault of glass I was lvl 26 got chatterwhite wore it like a boss got vision of confluence and last word that was 25th September long long time ago in destiny years never cheesed it with nades Same with crota did it all legit one first week of release got ice breaker in the first chest crazy but I already had it got hunger of crota and the dreaded no land beyond the shader and emblem were terrible looking Prison of elders is dull boring and repetitive and the legendary gear guns and 3 exotics are just terrible went flawless on trials of week 1 and 2 stopped playing it cause it's full of try hard tbagging wankers I think this dlc coming has to be make or break for destiny but it will survive it's next 9 years cause of the big fan base it already has
-
Nope all legit
-
On my original account , I've pushed off the Templar and Atheon.
-
Always pushed the Templar. Pushed Atheon a couple times. Pushed each once after the patches to prove we could. Easier to just kill em though
-
Yeah, did it all legit as we didn't know about the cheeses in VoG, and couldn't beat Atheon. Used my checkpoint later to solo after I learned about it and pushed him off. Ahh the old days. Probably sound like a "scrub" now for not being able to beat Atheon, but it was hard back then at level 26-28!
